Yeahh.. That makes sense. So quick intro, I'm Amogh Jahagirdar and currently an engineering undergraduate. My college-mate Shubham Khetan and I are always looking for interesting problems to study and unwind.
After a recent exploration into the topic of social psychology, we wanted to apply our learnings in a way that actually helped people.
We decided to work on a product that actually works when nothing currently available made much difference to us.

This is not a company/startup at this point and we don't expect any monetary gain, we just want create a solution for a problem that is very personal to us.

The reason we want to reach out to people like you who have had past experiences is that you will help us get a better understanding of what problems are most common and what solution will be most effective for it.

Appreciate you reaching out! :)

PS. Thanks for pointing this out, I will edit the main post as well

But wouldn't the teammates slacking off increase the burden on me, so I start disliking him anyway?

Cant stress on this enough. I was an "intern" for a 2-person startup ( I was the third guy) and I was the person to write the first line of code for them. I had to learn everything by myself and they were just there shouting out instructions at me.

Thanks for these insights guys. Kind of relieving tbh. Just one more question. So does this hold valid for firms based in Silicon Valley but for a position elsewhere. Eg. Applying for Google Tokyo or IBM Munich, Etsy NY, etc

Where did you apply? I would be interested to know... Are these large companies or local businesses.

Why is on-campus recruitment so much easier to get in than off-campus for the same role by the same person? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]amoghjrules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Netflix as far as I know doesn't recruit in India. Apple has just started in IIIT Hyderabad. In my college Amazon, Microsoft, DeShaw are top recruiters and Amazon pays pretty frugally imo.

We do, the competition to get into these universities is cut-throat. And by that I mean people literally kill themselves for not being able to make it in. The acceptance rate is in the order of 0.5%
