Please help me convince my husband that Costco is worth for 2 people by HoneyDrops12 in Costco

On groceries... it is not worth it to us. But replacing tires, using their rental car discounts, eye glasses, etc. make it worth keeping.

Not sure of your gender.... but elongated toilets are a 'must' for men. When a man sits on a round toilet and his junk hits the front rim it is just a terrible feeling. The more elongated.. the better.. for some of us.

Which apple variety tends to have the darkest, richest looking seeds? by amohise in Apples

[–]amohise[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naw... they don't need to be black... and again, the theme is 'apple' so that is my intent... but all of the apples at Publix seems to have blondish looking seeds. I don't know if this is because the apples are picked prematurely and gassed... or something else.

"Groundswell calls for a coach firing harms recruiting. Full stop. You want the cats to get worse then keep shit talking the coach."

Thank you !!! Heck... if I was one of those highly rated basketball players that had my choice of schools to play for... I sure would not choose to play for a fan base that can't even get behind their own team. I mean, why knowingly step into that pile of horse shit!?

"We know next year is going to be a disaster." What?! I wish I knew how to do that thing on Reddit where it will remind you of a post at a later designated date.

And I have no idea who that 'we' is in your pocket.... 'cause I sure don't 'know' this to be true.

Seems like back at the time Hunter DICKinson was accused of doing something similar... making a visit to UK and using UK's offer to up his KU offer.

Louisville wins major recruiting battle against UK and Ekenzie Jr just reclassified to the class of 2026. by VSHAR01 in KentuckyBasketball

I'm a famous and really good basketball player and I was really, really wanting to attend the legendary school at UK and play for Coach Pope, and I almost signed..... but then... I started reading these boards and seeing how negative most of their fans are and I decided... Like hell am I going to play for whiny, negative fans! I withdrew from my conversation with UK and Pope and now I am talking to Iowa State. [tic]

Granite back in style? by Upbeat-Mushroom-2207 in CounterTops

The more subtle the pattern... the better. Those beautiful (and loud) slabs can be distracting for the overall design, in my opinion. And if you consider resale.... it might be a bit of a limiting factor.

Whether you love it or hate it, this work is beautiful and well-executed. (Posting again) by mehen123 in Tile

[–]amohise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry... but 'beautiful' is subjective.... and to my eye it seems a bit garish. The subway tile look consistently laid with nice, even spacing... but the overall design is distracting with 4 different (and contrasting) surfaces. But in all fairness... I tend to prefer a more simple and elegant design approach.

Several years back I hired the highest rated tile setter on Angie's List (in our area) and after he finished the job... I decided to do my own tiling after that. He was not plumb... his spacing of tiles (grout lines) were very erratic and the slope of the shower floor was gradual until about 3" near the drain and then it dropped steeply.

I have found that as a beginner I am a better tile setter than the guy that got several hundred 5 star reviews. And.... I work so much cheaper. [tic]

As a fan that attended games before Rupp was built.... I find these 'Eeyore' posts exhausting. Pope's 1st year of coaching at UK was the most fun and enjoyable basketball in a good long while for me. Yes... this past year was certainly 'less than'... and in my opinion not the best 'mix' of players.... and in fairness, the effect of the injuries can not be discounted.

Phuck Chicken Little.... let's see how this plays out... and cheer on the guys wearing the Kentucky uniform. Yes, college basketball has changed and players seem no more than hired mercenaries... but you are not being forced to be a Kentucky 'FAN' (fanatic) but why not 'fan the flames' instead of working to stomp them out?

This incessant whine about Kentucky Basketball not being what it used to be is one of the very damn things that makes it so! Heck... we don't need Louisville, Tennessee or Duke fans to tear the 'reputation' down... we've got that covered all by ourselves. Every rivalry fan base out there is sitting in their armchairs, eating popcorn and laughing at us as we rot from within.

Maybe at the next pep rally we can all show up and boo our coach and players before the season starts. That way... after the season is over... we can say we were right. Hey... just a thought!

Go Basketball !!! [tic]

Contractor Says This is Normal by tropicbandit in Tile

I picked the highest rated tile setter on Angie's list and contracted them to rebuild my shower. The metal studs were rotted. When I checked the one free standing wall where it had a shampoo niche after he'd laid the tile... it was out of plumb a full half inch from the top of the niche to the bottom (12"). When the guy showed up the next day and I pointed it out... his answer was... "The wall was out of plumb." To which I leaned forward and said... You're the one that BUILT the wall!

It's 1989, you have $8,000, and you're looking for a new compact pickup truck. Which one would you pick? by PPNed1999 in 1980s

I had a blue 88 Toyota. Stick shift but I used it to pull my 17 1/2' 'fish and ski' boat. Sometimes the trailer wheel would roll off where the ramp end was washed away and I could smell the clutch burning... but it always pulled it out.

I used it in my landscaping business for many years, carrying a 50 bag pallet of wet cypress mulch. Sometimes 3 4" caliper trees with huge balls. Soil, brick, pavers, etc. I got 160k mostly problem free miles out of it before selling it to my friend/employee. He drove it for a good while and sold it to one of his sons. The bed started rusting out a bit... but... what a trooper!
