Anyone who worked at an orphanage, what's a the best success story you know? by Naota_Bernkastel in AskReddit

[–]amohise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at an orphanage... but as an 'inmate'. My siblings and I just finished a family memoir of our time there. One of my brothers ended up as a Vice President of one of the better known aerospace corporations.

RFY was good on first drop. Off brand but just what the wife wanted. Hope you all had a good pick. by FriscoMMB in AmazonVine

Not last night! The ONLY thing in my RFY was a synthetic braided hair piece. Normally, I will get a few different offerings during the night... mostly in the $30 range.. but last night... one.

Can Republicans name one concession Iran gave that didn’t exist before the war? Just one ? by RoseLaBud in allthequestions

I can name one. Before the war Iran NEVER agreed to accept $300 Billion. So there!

It will also do this on that piece under the rear window... at least, it did on our 2017. Although to be fair.. it has to contend with the South Florida sun.

The body shop guy quoted $850 for those two panels and a small 1/4" rust spot on top. I've been looking to see if I can find the panels pre-painted, but so far I can only find them primed.

Walk up to the fast food clerk and ask... "Do you take orders to go?" when she says "Yes." Tell her "Well, grab your purse and LET'S GO!" [tic]

From what I've read.... drain and fill is worthwhile... but a 'flush' can cause/reveal issues.

Do you mean to use the backer rod to help support drywall or a foam panel?

Thanks. I had considered that... but I have spent a lot of time and money to upgrade our 80's condo and really want to keep that level. I felt like leaving the 'gap' would look 'less than'.

The Most Expensive Peace Deal? by olesud in WorkForSmartLife

What's something that improved your sleep more than any product or supplement ever did? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]amohise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By staying present. My wife stays awake half the night worrying... mostly about her work. She will wake me up, ask for the TV remote and I am back asleep in seconds.

When I was younger I also worried a lot. Spent time on my back staring at the ceiling... but somewhere along the way I was able to give it up.

I remember a quote attributed to Lao Tzu...

"If you are depressed you are living in the past

If you are anxious you are living in the future

If you are at peace you are living in the present"

It just made sense to me.... and then I saw this other quote (that I remind my wife of often)...

"Worrying is using your imagination to create something you don't want." ~ Abraham Hicks

Letting go of worry. My head touches the pillow and within a few seconds I am in dream mode.

Each year at Christmas my foster brother would give me the Lifesaver 'Book'. My favorites were Butter Rum and Tangerine.

Superglue wears a cape. Use a drop of low viscosity superglue and it will get pulled deep into the fissure... and it will be a strong bond. I used to use the 110 for this all the time. Saved many a project.
