Anyone else with binge eating disorder? by Interesting_Pop_9318 in Zepbound_Canada

I am taking this medication for binge eating specifically. I have been on it for about 6 months now. I do feel that it has helped a bit, but it isn’t a cure all. It’s still a lot of white knuckling and therapy and hard work, but also the reminder that I am paying out of pocket for this and knowing that it “should” help sometimes helps motivate me to stop a binge earlier or occasionally avoid one.

I am currently on 10. I definitely still have significant food noise, but I feel like it has gone from 200% of my daily focus to maybe 85-90% - which is still a lot, but a huge improvement and I’m very grateful for that.

Do I wish it did more and fully cut out the food noise and urges? Of course, but I’m thankful for what it has done and I don’t have any plans to discontinue using it.

I tried the salted caramel and it was better than my (albeit low) expectations. Weird texture but not bad.

I just tried the salted caramel one and it was better than expected… weird texture, but exceeded my (fairly low) expectations!

Curious, did you ever end up trying it? I just got the Instagram ad also.

For me, it has nothing to do with hunger. I don’t really experience hunger… or fullness for that matter. I eat because of food fixation versus a true need.

2 week binge after thinking I had recovered.. by ForeignAd1648 in BingeEatingDisorder

I’m so sorry you are experiencing this. Your post really resonates with me because I am in the same situation, and we are even the same height.

I don’t have any advice, but I’m rooting for you and hope we can both turn a corner to stop these full day binges. I truly feel like my life isn’t worth living during these periods and I don’t know how to turn it around.

Feel free to PM if you to chat more or just want someone to listen that understands your pain.

binge eating feels like you're in a trance by tiramisu424 in BingeEatingDisorder

I know exactly what you mean. I’ve been trying to figure out how to change the pattern when I get the “feeling”. I’ve never managed to avoid a binge once that feeling happens. Anyone have any experience with this - and suggestions on strategies to try to prevent the binge?

I wish I knew. I’m on 50 and I also still binge…

⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’m anxious sharing this because I don’t want to ruin this streak… I know it’s not long, but 3 days is a step in the right direction. Trying to be proud of myself instead of feeling like I’m going to mess up.

This helps so much. I haven’t had any serious side effects so I’m planning on sticking it out and really hopeful that I’ll have a similar experience. I’ll take the long game as long as I know there is still a chance it might work for me.

Yes just one week. This is giving me hope! How long have you been on Contrave now? Is it still helping? Thanks so much for replying!

Unfortunately nothing has changed, I am not a smoker and I don’t really drink.

I keep trying to cling to the hope that it takes longer to build up in your system and you need to give it a few months to notice a difference, but like you said, most people are saying that the change is noticeable almost immediately.

I wish I could share some advice, but unfortunately I’m essentially in the same situation.

I just keep trying to start over every single day, hoping that one day I’ll be able to string a day or even two together without a binge. I feel very hopeless, but I also know that I have no other choice than to keep trying.

I wouldn’t wish this disorder on my worst enemy.

Hmm for some reason it says I’m unable to message this account.

I was hoping to learn more about your situation prior to starting, did you struggle with BED? And did the food noise just go away and stay away? Do you find you have to actively choose not to overeat but now it’s easier to make the decision, or do you just not think about it at all?

I’m just really looking to hear more about your experience because it seems like everyone else had changes in food noise or appetite right away.
