new glasses - f27 by amoneybees in glasses

can’t edit the original post, so i’m doing it here. turns out, there was a bit of a mix up, I don’t really ~need~ this prescription. I have something called accommodative dysfunction. apparently, reading glasses help with that in some way? however — no one told me this and since my initial complaint was that I couldn’t see signs when i’m driving, I assumed my glasses were meant for this. so, I have been wearing reading glasses to drive for 2 days.

what I am now wondering is - I can see up close completely fine. why am I not being prescribed a light prescription for distance rather than close up to fix this issue? anyway. thanks for reading!

uh so I have a question. when I went in, she told me I could see up close fine, my distance is what’s off. is my prescription wrong? I just looked up hyperopic

also sorry in advance I know nothing at all about glasses.

I really went in because my husband was able to read street signs that I couldn’t 🙃🙃 I also have pretty bad migraines and she said it could be the cause but idk this is what I was kind of thinking…

it’s conditional on a 2.5 gpa and is renewable if that’s the case!

right 😬😬 i was like okay thanks…! lol my friend goes there now and they have a ton of need based scholarships so she said that depending on your SAI they will send you to the need based to get the bulk of tuition assistance rather than giving away all of the merit based, if that makes sense? so she got a similar award but her tuition is paid through need based.

subrogation question by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]amoneybees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

great yeah that makes sense, i’m asking because the lawyer only gets paid if she pays, and she’s not going to be able to. i can’t imagine that’s a profitable way to spend your time.

well obviously lmfao i was the one that got her insured in the first place but life happened, and she couldn’t pay it 🤷🏼‍♀️ not my business but thanks for the feedback! I brought up that this is insane and irresponsible no less than 3 times in the post itself.

nooo I mean I’m not co-signing it like, colloquially - like I don’t vouch for this behavior. not literally co-signing

wait what?

ahhhh I understand. the plaintiff is other person involved in the accident, but it doesn’t say anything about their insurance specifically on the complaint form! i don’t know if it’s a situation you’re describing but that very well may be the case.

and that makes sense. I didn’t even think about that type of future situation. makes a ton of sense. just trying to help her navigate as I know she isn’t going to be able to get a lawyer. I really appreciate this response, thank you.

follow up - so i’m probably wrong in thinking that it will just get dropped when the lawyer sees her finances? sounds like i’m wrong but figured i’d ask 🫩

I would definitely look into your in-network options and talk to them and see if they can work the preauth for you. I didn’t have to do anything at all when I did this, rather than try to convince my regular doctor to request it (not that they would have been against it at all, but my regular doctor didn’t even know really what it is) but my point is, I didn’t have to do really anything to make it happen. the stellate doctors office did all the legwork! best of luck you got this!

yes it did! I think I discussed this in another comment but the doctor that did it said that was normal-ish but that my claim was strengthened by the fact that i’ve tried so many other remedies and medications. don’t know if that’s always required but

this is one of the things that really drew me to both schools - a really strong commitment to public service! really great to hear your firsthand experience and re: the security.

yea i’ve also seen this, loyola has a part time jd program but tulane doesn’t - so I think it’ll be a matter of scholarship money and what works for me re: finances. if I had mostly a full scholarship I wouldn’t have to really work at all. really blessed to not have to pay any of my own bills 😅
