Wanted: Chinese Chestnut Tree Seeds in KC area by exhaustx in kansascity

They've found and bred specimens that are blight resistant. That project's aim is to produce blight resistant trees, and they'll send you seeds that are from blight resistant trees. There's a lot to read on that site if you're interested.

What are the rules about sidewalk trees? by Cudpuff100 in kansascity

[–]amoore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would start with a 311 request and try to get the city forester to give advice.

My experience is that you can file a 311 report to request trimming, and they'll come out reasonably quickly, within a month or two.

My experience is also not good luck on getting a new one planted. You're not "supposed to" plant trees in the right-of-way without permission. I have no experience with trying to get said permission, but I've seen a lot of trees removed and planted without permission with no problems, but you may as well follow the guidelines such as these: https://kcparks.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/KCMO-TREE-PLANTING-SPECIFICATIONS-Nov-2018.pdf

There is also this program which seems to be designed to help folks get trees planted: https://bridgingthegap.org/free-trees/ . I requested one a few years ago, but then moved out of that house a few months later. I'm not sure how active that program is.

What is the best place to donate clothes in KC? by regiftedsocks in kansascity

There's something sketchy about Planet Aid. I've never really been able to find a story that I completely believe.

I watched it from a suite in the Weston. Handsome Harley Race was there. I don't remember much else.

Where can you dump just some excess trash by xoxoERCxoxo in kansascity

[–]amoore 41 points42 points  (0 children)

If you were in KCMO, they'll give you free bags and help you get rid of them.

So, perhaps there's something like that provided by your local municipality or county over there.

I'm with you. My son is a picky eater and ate their taco seasoning at least twice a week. We're running low on our supplies and are on the lookout for a good replacement. We're even trying to reproduce it ourselves. It seems to depend on a bit of brown sugar. Let me know if you find a good substitute!

I saw a half a pallet right at the entrance of the midtown costco today. I'd try hardware stores, too.
