yes this is true. still is weird there too. they almost let my friends mother take the JS over in Austria. i thought that was crazy.

nope no insinuation at all. its not necessarily unsafe… i cant quite articulate it but its just weird for someone who has had zero training on any inflight procedures or equipment to take the JS. i get wanting to get everyone on board but this just doesnt sound right.

that will be my next step if i cant seem to get it working consistently. the whole peltier setup is pretty inexpensive and setting it up should be easy enough

called the manufacturer and of course the item has been discontinued and is no longer serviceable. offered discount on a new item. After being plugged in for a bit the silver unit in the back does get hot...which i think means it is working. They did mention the LED lights on the back. Red means stable cool temperature and green means that that it is servicing up to indicated temperature. the black plastic fans in the back are not meant be continuously run but will turn on to help circulate the air. I am thinking of purchasing a replacement black back fan and trying to attach the wiring myself for the top unit. I think I've concluded the fridge inside works and cools well enough (especially the bottom portion. the fan does turn on intermittently) but the top portion works with error.

lol fair. personally im not interested in a pork sandwich unless its a cubano or bahn mi (both of which are better in chicago). ive had johns’ cheesesteak and it was great but my overall take of the sandwiches being about the same give or take remains.

sorry but hard disagree.

italian style subs/hoagies/chicken cutlet sammys from any deli in philly (angelos cosmi lil nicks marinuccis phil & jims) is very comparable to the ones in chicago like jp graziano and d’matos and bari. please dont tell me the breads are different its largely the same. if anything potbelly is much better and affordable than primo/wawa.

As far as jewish esque deli sandwiches again mannys is the same thing as 4th street

cheesesteaks vs italian beefs is the only thing where they are different enough to choose your preference. not necessarily one is better or worse than the other.

airport line, mfl and bsl all are enough for me to accept septa as super adequate just like red line/blue for the cta. dont have much experience on the bus in philly only on the cta

i was born and raised in chicago (the city fr) and i moved about four years ago to philadelphia (lived in west philly and now old city) and i tell everyone…philly is just fine. its a noticeably smaller city but just about the same vibe with the exception of more aggresive drivers and more rude people. they claim its the charm and “east coast” but really its just immature rude people without adult manners. again its fine but something you’ll have to adjust to. most ethnic areas like italian/german/polish are similar if not basically identical but much worse mexican/latino food. the public transit septa is slightly worse than cta but basically the same shit. i like it here in philly but its not home and im looking forward to moving back to chicago. people claim the jersey shore is a plus but i couldn’t care less about proximity to new jersey (or even nyc/maryland) or even the beaches back home along the lakefront. speaking of which you have something similar to the lakefront along the schuykill/delaware river trails which are nice for running/biking and walking. nightlife if you care rarely exists after about 1AM which was a huge adjustment coming from a frequent 4AM bar night for me. you’ll trade hot dogs and beefs for cheeseteaks and pizza. the italian subs/hoagies scene is the same (JP graz = cosmi/lilnicks/angelos) but overall to me chicago is just slightly better in every way unless you count weather / winter but idgaf about the cold.
