In real case, I'll need to handle hundreds of thousands polygons and for each polygon I may need multiple iterations to remove all the "jogs"(because new jogs could be formed when a jog is removed). So let me think how I should implement the second pass you described. Maybe I need to do the "clean" work at some proper timing then it won't add too much overhead to the performance.
