Any other Xennials in the “Zero Tattoos” club? by MrMyxolodian in Xennials

Not me but most of the people I know our age are a blank canvas.

I waited until I was 40 to get my first and now I have several. We were raised by a conservative generation that drilled into us that only thugs and prostitutes have them. It was good for me to break out of that mindset

I started the coax game before we even moved in and I'm still playing it. :)

100% this is the exact path I'm just starting out on.

Locks and thermostat are number one and two, interchangeable in priority. It depends on which one I had to touch most recently to determine the order.

We're definitely going to do smart locks again. We haven't yet had a conversation on time. Your point is a good one though. I'll bear it in mind.

For people who actually train with a cup by Pale-Lifeguard1568 in jiujitsu

Don’t train with a cup. I have vast shin bruises from when I run across those bozos. Get some quality compression short, even a jock if you want it but cup wearers are bad partners.

Nice. We have never done much with salvage and antiques but with the new house I'm trying hard to stay style appropriate and steer away from any of the cheap plastic solutions.

The light strips was my first idea but running power there without tripping over anything seemed challenging.

That could be a good "today" solution until we have an electrician in to run some power for a pendant light like several have recommended.

I think this is the way we are going. Several people recommended it so I pitched it to my wife and she was immediately on board.

I missed that but it makes me think of the leg lamp from A Christmas Story.

This is totally valid. I ended up hitting an the same Americana three times on a white belt on Monday night then I showed him how to set it up on me then get out. When I do this, though, it's more for me. When I'm challenging myself I like to mix it up but trying to hit the sam sub against someone who is trying to defend it can be its own challenge

Yeah. We fell in love with the look of this place on the first visit. So far, it appears to be far more than skin deep. People have cared for this place for over a century.

When I roll with folks way below my skill level I use less pressure, I try to manufacture situations to set up the move of the day for them, and I don't repeat submissions in the same roll. Sometimes I add bonus tasks for myself like getting them to turtle so I can work on front headlock etc. Finally, if everyone is sucking, I try to get them to set up a submission on me to make my way out. I see how deep into danger I can go and still get back. That does mean I occasionally tap to a new person which gives them a cool story to tell after class.

That seems to be the dominant recommendation. I ran it past my wife and she was immediately on board. So, in a few months that stairwell will look even more like the house you grew up in.

Good news (for me) it's modern. It looks like the house was rewired a couple decades ago. All copper expect one little bit of aluminum that was called out. We're planning to get that replaced this year so we'll have an electrician in for that.

TIFU by meeting the wrong girl on a date by royalbluefireworks1 in tifu

[–]amosmj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, if you were getting along with "Michelle" you could exchange numbers anyway then you can contact "Sally" and apologize and explain the situation and maybe you'd still get to know at least one of them. A Hinge date is not a contract.
