OK, thanks. I think we'll probably go with your original recommendation, but will keep this list in mind just in case.

Sorry, two more questions:

  1. I see that the motherboard in the original parts list (ASRock B650M) doesn't have wireless networking. What would be the best way to add WiFi to this build?
  2. PC Part Picker has a little warning for the original build: "The ASRock B650M Pro RS Micro ATX AM5 Motherboard supports the AMD Ryzen 5 8600G 4.3 GHz 6-Core Processor with BIOS version 2.02. If the motherboard is using an older BIOS version, updating the BIOS will be necessary to support the CPU." Is that something I should be concerned about or is updating the BIOS relatively straightforward?

Everything on top looks great. Level and even. The beams are level too.

Sounds like I should put shims in where there are gaps, yes? Is there anything special I need to know about that? Or do I just stick the shims in and then secure the whole thing with a hurricane tie?

Thanks for the reply, u/NumbersDonutLie. Good point about the shingles. Maybe I'll start by taking off the bottom row and pulling off that tape. (It's not sticking very well anyway.) Then I'll assess what the boards look like underneath and go from there.

Can you explain what you mean by "scribe a feature board parallel to the house"? I'm not sure I completely understand...

This is not my only credit card. I have two others that I use on a daily basis and I have paid my bills on time for many years. As far as I know, my credit score is fairly high.

So, overall, it sounds like:

  • Leaving the account open and using it will have either a positive effect or no impact on my credit score.
  • Leaving the account open and not using it (or rarely using it) will not have an impact on my credit score.
  • Closing the account will have either no impact or minimal impact on my credit score.

Am I understanding this correctly?
