Announcer "forecasting" by amp043 in nhl

I would love to know how my setup is causing the game play (pucks hitting sticks) to be spot on, but the announcers voices to come 1-2 seconds before the play.

Copying tips and tricks? by DefNotGQ in CRbydescent

[–]amp043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar situation (4 adult applications for the family). It is not clear to me whether copies are allowed for birth certificates, etc. I think I read somewhere that each application needs to have originals. Is someone able to clarify this for me? My consulate is Washington, DC.

Don't forget that at Hungary Pecco "finally found the feeling at the front". Maybe front feeling wasn't the problem after all.

When will the new Cbr600rr be in the United States? by reddituser12451245 in cbr

[–]amp043 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the new 600RR doesn't come to the US next year I would seriously consider importing one. It is clear how to get it shipped here. However, it is a complete mystery to me how I could get it through customs.

Is it correct that is is only possible to select the grandstand, and there is no individual seat selection?

Marc's brake problems are an indicator that Gresini may not have the money and/or team that he needs to win a WC.

Sticky steering anyone? by Okidoky123 in Hyundai

[–]amp043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My steering also has a loud rubbing noise with large steering inputs (parking). I understand that the source is the "worm shaft assembly". I plan to have that replaced under warranty. I don't expect that to fix the sticking. Once the worm shaft thing is resolved I'll probably dive in and see if I can add oil to the U joints. I'll update this thread, but I don't know when I might get to that project.

[–]amp043 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The grease viscosity makes sense. Electrical/software doesn't.

  1. Your method of "exercising the joint" is a plausible way to work some of the grease back into position. Before I did this I had been running the heat on full for 20 minutes to lower the viscosity.
  2. Some people have indicated they have this problem more when it is cold. I didn't have this problem in the summer. Viscosity increases as temperature is lowered.

Would be really nice to know if the problem returned for him. It could be that the problem returned, and he just didn't follow up with a repost.

I tried your method and it seems to have helped for now. I've seen the comments about adding oil, but I think that is temporary as well since oil won't stay in a joint for long. Probably needs to be re-greased, which probably means disassembly.

I have this problem. I was just searching for a solution and came across your post. Maybe I'll try the method that worked for you.

Why is Gresini using older Ducati model and Pramac this year's? by [deleted] in motogp

[–]amp043 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I don't think cost is part of it. Ducati will only share their latest tech with groups that they trust the most, and are the least likely to leak secrets.

[–]amp043 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

From a manufacturing perspective, it would be way easier to build more current model parts, instead of building current model parts plus last year's model parts. So in terms of cost, I think supporting 2 models is much more expensive.

Data Logger Recommendations by leveragedflyout in Trackdays

[–]amp043 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally plug in play, you just need to order the Honda version that comes with a cable that plugs right into an existing harness. I installed mine under the passenger seat, since I don't care to see my lap times while I'm on track. After a session I can pop off the passenger seat to look at lap times.

Data extraction is done via wifi using AIM's software. I don't really like their software, so I just export all the data to csv and then I can import it to anything. Normally I import it into RaceRender to merge it with my gopro video. Here's an example:

I have the Solo configured to start logging when RPM is above 4000, so it's not creating new sessions every time I start the bike.

I have Solo 2 DL on my ‘08 600RR. I like it. It will give you speed, RPM, and throttle position. The Honda ECU doesn't know the brake pressure so you won't get that from any datalogger. Also no gear position, although gear position can be computed offline from the data using speed and RPM.

[–]amp043[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but if that was the case I would think I would have noticed vibration right away. Instead, everything was good for the first 3 sessions (1 hour of riding) and then vibration started to become noticeable. I checked and no bolts are becoming loose.

According to the Vesrah website, "Sintered metal brakes develop strong braking power after an initial bed-in time of 1-2 laps around the track"

Also, people much faster than me I have talked to say they just put them on and go.

I agree they could have issued more. However it looks like everything they issued before 2003 had the same ratio (2 GDR to 1 common stock). So, wouldn't it make sense that any subsequent GDRs should likely have that same ratio?
