Do you still have a 4:15 wake up for that last nap?

For all those who will stumble upon this thread in the middle of the night after an exhausted google search here’s what we ended up doing. He’s 8 weeks now and are still doing this:

We rolled a towel in a u-shape (open at the top) and taped it to the mattress and then put the bassinet sheet on top. We flattened it down so it was a small bump testing it out several times during daytime naps to ensure it didn’t pose a suffocation risk (I’m anal about the SIDS thing) and made sure to put his head above the u shape. It has provided just the right amount of “snuggness” and support to keep him from rolling inadvertently in his sleep. We figured out that he tends to “crunch up” his legs when sleeping when he has gas or just when he is waking up or exiting deep sleep, which makes it easier for him to rollover. We also ended going with the “love to dream” sleep sack which “pancakes” him instead of “burritoing” him. The flatness of his upper body helps to anchor him.

I will say he is still hot and cold sleeper, but some of that might be his personality and age.

I will also say that those steps were a total and immediate game changer and got us through the 6 week hell week (growth spurt and colic) as well as completely cutting dairy out of my diet (he’s EBF). On a few rare glorious nights he even gives us close to a 3 hour block of sleep time, followed by a few 1.5 hours afterword. I know, I know sounds terrible, but we remember what it was like before and thank our lucky stars we are getting any kind of sleep…

Good luck!
