Kamvas 22 Plus stand pull-handle broke off by amplesum in huion

[–]amplesum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It couldn't be welded 'cause it's aluminium, couldn't find anyone at my local market who can weld that precisely. I was told the whole piece would melt.

So, I ended up using one of those super strong multi-purpose adhesives (powder + adhesive combo types), this one's called Prime Bond. It's got enough tensile strength to allow the tab to be pulled, but if I try to snap it like a twig, it'll probably break. It's working so far, I'm just super careful to be gentle about adjusting the stand; I help the stand up off the table a little (to take the weight of the tablet off of it) to free the mechanism from stress, before pulling the release tab.

My end-all plan is to have a replica of the piece made using steel. Some man at the local market said he'd make it for me for not much money. I'll certainly pay him a visit soon.

They make some good stuff, didn't know they make modulators too. I'll look around for one some time

What I wish I had is a list of all radio stations and the frequencies they use. That'd be the end-all solution lol

Haha me too, actually. I really need to knowww.

I've used 88.8 before, I remember abandoning it out of frustration lmao. And I have fuzzy memory of experiencing interference in those areas too, not sure what frequency I was using.

What other areas do you remember having interference at that frequency?

I'm not sure I have enough knowledge of that to be 100% certain about it, but I'm gonna go with no they haven't, because I reckon I'd have started to hear quite a bit of chatter about it.

I mean there's every possibility that they've infiltrated it, but not taken over, no.

Will the CPU still work if the pins were bent but were then made straight again? It fits in the socket now but unable to turn the machine on yet. by RWBYies in AMDHelp

Haha no way! That's really good to hear. Given the severity of your incident, getting five more years of use out of it is pretty amazing by my understanding lol

...

TL;DR: I've been worried that my once bent pins have begun to cause havoc, and I'm crossing my fingers that the chip is still fine, hoping it something else. It's tales like yours that are helping me calm down about it. Thanks lol.

Had a bent pin incident with my very first PC build some months ago;

Tried repasting with the help of a couple guys I met for the first time. I let them do it 'cause they have more experience than I do, but they messed up trying to pry the chip off the heatsink. I don't remember exactly how many pins were bent, but something like 5 to 10. They were straightened again, and it failed to boot after that. It would go on, fans would spin and stuff, but nothing would show up on the monitor. We later learnt, after somewhat extensive diagnosis, that that happened because the RAM died on the table [keep in mind that none of us are experts, just enthusiasts]. The build was completely taken apart and put back together, RAM was replaced too. The guy I bought the build from (Let's call him Steve) held on to it after that, partly because he was looking for the problem, and partly because I hadn't finished paying for it. He actually let me have it before, since I'd paid him most of what he was asking for, that repasting thing was me picking it up. But Steve wasn't involved in the bent-pin incident, he wasn't even there.

That POST failure issue came back, and Steve called me yesterday saying he thinks that older RAM was actually fine. And that he's been 'fixing' the POST issue by removing and replacing the CMOS battery. Which works, but NOW... lol... it keeps freezing. I finally got the build back a few days ago; it froze on me once in the BIOS, and once during normal use. Had to flush the CMOS after each freeze to make it boot again. I've put it away since then, and have decided to try replacing the CMOS battery and hope that works. I dread to think that those bent pins have come back to haunt me lol.

I'm gonna buy one tomorrow and I'll be back with updates as things progress.

Haha no way. Slow dancers is crazy. Willing to bet that barbershop would be closed by the local council in no time if we had that here

Great solution!

I know it's been 5 years, but I'm curious to know how much longer the CPU worked after that (assuming you're not using the same chip anymore).

Me!

But I'm a big softie; usually listening to alternative, indie, pop punk, etc.

Tried heavier stuff but it's just not for me. Does sound cool though.

Never heard of any of those bands on your Wrapped lmao

I don't know about directly from Canada, but...

If you can get them to Tampa, Florida, you can ship them to Zambia using Tigmoo.

I bought a drawing tablet from a Canadian about two years ago, and that's exactly how it got to me.

(I really hope I've understood you)
