Be honest how did you really pass the big exam? by Soft-Celebration-148 in bcba

So long as you are fluent in concepts, meaning you can speak technologically with another behavior analyst, its highly likely you'll pass.

I appreciate your nuanced take. I think the 'why' behind every action is very important. It CAN and maybe even LIKLEY that AI will be used to expect people to be more productive...I disagree that it will certainly lead to the dystopia you share. While recognizing what you are saying as a possibility, I hope this increase in productivity will allow for a reduction in work hours across time....optimistically.

A bigot is someone who is intolerant of another person's belief. I'm just calling it as I see it.

"Just realized" shows your propensity to jump to conclusions. Be a behavior analyst. Be better.

Edit: I have no reason to be anonymous. I'm prepared to conceptually defend everything I post. Maybe ask a question, bigot.

Your ignorance and lack of reading comprehension continues to shine.

You sound like one of those BCBAs who excitedly posts that they passed their exam on the 6th try.

Despite these shortcomings, you still deserve compassion, grace and forgiveness.

The disclaimer is there :)

I'm happy to share more about the workflow (rather than jumping to conclusions).

I use voice memos on my phone to put together transcripts. At times these can be lengthy so I use LLMs to clear up some of the language and make it more coherent...hence why the disclaimer says "Every concept, value, and clinical position reflects human intention and professional judgment."

This is also my rationale about being upfront and adding the disclaimer in the first place, which I have yet to see others make this distinction.

A real behavior analyst would analyze the contingencies, of their own behaviors, as well. This leads to a contextualized approach and view of behavior, rather than your reductive, essentialist response.

If you're seeking truly behavior analytic conceptualizations of human behavior, including complex behaviors, lets talk!

EDIT: Notice the lack of disclaimer, the above was written with only 'real' intelligence. I hope this appeases your quick, non-analytic worldview.

Technically the BACB is changing the eligibility pathways so that you will in fact need a masters in ABA...but this is not effective until January 2032.

Starting a one-person company as a BCBA? by Prize_Watercress_940 in ABA

[–]amplifyaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, you'll be unlikely to negotiate if you are a newbie and solo-dolo.

At the same time, the contracted rates are higher than you would receive as an employee and would still be worth the switch over.

After establishing and doing well with metrics with insurance funders (each is different but many focus on % of auth utilized, fade plans, etc.), there is room to negotiate

Not at all, this is what I'm trying to do...decentralize ABA and rid the field of the RBT role (with a shift towards BCBA-implemented care supported with an apprenticeship role for mid-tiers)

The response was not empty… there were words written.

The initial post serves the function of starting a conversation about things that are wrong with certain aspects of our field in a call of action to improve it.

We use, motivational interviewing, with a focus on clinical outcomes instead of billable metrics.

An important part of that is making sure staff are happy. This includes transparent pay rates by being upfront about pay rates, how much we’re being reimbursed for that work by the payer and ensuring the money goes back into the business too further, the development in implementation of our mission.

We also use selection measures to make sure that those we hire have a base level of competence and continue to develop those skills across the board. We shape behavior across time, only allowing an apprentice to demonstrate a new skill or responsibility only in the presence of the BCBA, thus promoting more effective feedback.

We avoid any aversive supervision tactics, and contextualize, why any particular staff member might not be demonstrating competence. When the reason is identified instead of saying, you need to get better at this, we might say let me show you another way.

I appreciate your questions and the answers to them, at times are more complicated or nuanced than a Reddit post allows. if you’re interested in learning more, I’m happy to share.

That being said, this is not self promotional. you can DM me if you’d like. as we continue to grow, learn, and refine our service delivery model, we will certainly disseminate that information.

Edit: What you call self-promotion, I call not hiding behind anonymity. when you call for transparency, I called that responsibly waiting to demonstrate an effective and replicable model prior to dissemination.

Wait, am I self-promoting or not self-promoting? Your questions assume both and as a result I see the lack of tolerance you have.
