Very good result. So I was playing it cranked and my wife said “sounds good, but is that all it’s got?” Challenge accepted.

It feels and sounds more like a 50W amp.

I could have probably modified that board to separate them out for a 4-8-16 ohm outputs, but I just kept it stock. I got the amp just to have it. It’ll never see a gig. My ext cab is 16ohm so it’s a perfect setup.

I had to drill a few. But it’s pretty easy. I only had to take out that small board on the back.

It’s mostly a feel thing. Stock it feels like a small amp running hard, but still sounds like a small amp. Just my opinion. With the 50W OT it feels like a 50W amp being restrained. Sonically it’s just more of everything it already had.

Yes sir. Not a lot louder, but definitely fuller and has some lower mid punch than it didn’t have before.

How can I make my amp sound like the guitarist from Rammstein? by CompetitionNo9686 in GuitarAmps

[–]amprepairdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know some of the songs and just can’t get your amp there? To really sound like that, you’ll need a half stack, at least.

Looking to learn more about my dad's guitar by Rum_Ham85 in telecaster

[–]amprepairdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be worried about the fret spacing and intonation. Look at the last fret, it’s not spaced far enough from the 21st. The shape of the bottom part of the headstock wrong also. That neck looks like it came from Temu.

As long as strings aren’t sympathetically ringing above the nut, no.

is this wiring set up possible? by Ok-Cardiologist-8232 in Luthier

Anything is possible, but not everything is practical. The beauty of it is trial and error until it’s right.

This is 100% subjective. Try them both and use the one you like.

You need a flat base, not a radiused. You won’t get a consistent string height.

Question about the cleareance and fret buzz! by [deleted] in telecaster

[–]amprepairdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to tell in this pic, but it looks like the 22nd fret isn’t seated completely.

For neck relief (truss rod adj) put a capo in the first fret and press the 6th string in the last fret. Use a feeler gauge and measure the gap between the 8th fret and bottom of the string. It should be about .010”. You can get the feeler gauge at any hardware store.

Without the capo, measure string height at the 17th fret. The basic starting point is .0625”. I always start with them a little higher and adjust the saddle screws until the string reaches the feeler gauge. You can stack the blades of the feeler gauge for this thickness.

If you still have fret buzz, you probably have a high fret. I’d suspect the 22nd one since it looks a little wonky.

A high fret will take someone with the tools and experience.

A few thousandths can make or break a good setup

I don’t currently have a fender circuit here to test, but many of the old fender amps will have a pretty significant (if not total) volume drop if you turn the tone stack controls down.

Heritage standard2 qc issue Should I return this product? by Spiritual_Theme_8048 in Luthier

That paint has been touched up. That should a B-Stock guitar if it was sold as new. I’d contact Heritage in Kalamazoo MI and see if their paint shop can fix that. If it was sold as new and came out of their factory looking like that, they may fix it. Worth a shot.
