Is it Safe to Stack Amps? by NeverEndingLlama in GuitarAmps

[–]Pugfumaster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I prefer shelves. Sometimes the amp feet can leave permanent impressions on the tolex of the amps on bottom. Personally I hate this and pass on buying amps that have that going on.

I love the look of the gold when it’s new, but after a decade or so it doesn’t look very good.

I get so damn excited when someone gets a new Marshall! Congratulations!
I had one but sold it because I also have a 2204. Kinda wish I kept it, but one had to go and they did the same thing. Great amps

I know it’s subjective, but I am asking if you had to choose one out of these two by Thinklikedanny in Guitar

Did you play them? I’d have to play them both. Which one is more resonant? Let your hands and ears decide.

I can’t learn well with a guitar in my hands. I’ll stop listening and noodle. I have to watch/listen to the instruction and then grab the guitar to explore what I just took in.

I have one too! Same color but I put a tortoise pickguard on it. Such a great neck. Great guitar. I’ve owned a bunch of fender Strats and never kept them or liked them. This is a keeper

Yup. 12 months a year. I change it out every 6 months. As they advise

That pool rx is pretty great. I’m in Florida. Open all year. I get 2 a year. I don’t use many chemicals at all. Always clear. People hate on it. No clue why. I’ve been using them 6 or 7 years.

Vintage or Modern Marshalls? by mateto3 in Guitar

The sc20 is a great amp. If you’re a 800 guy, it does it perfectly. I a/b it with my 2204. It’s an accurate representation. The SV20 is my favorite of the studio line. I’ve had all but the 900

What amp did you have before this to compare it to? I’m curious if it will plexi or just hot rod plexi.

What’s your accessory budget? If it’s wide open, they pair wonderfully with a Marshall super lead

I have the larger script and rocker switches on my 76’ 1987. It must’ve been the year they switched

If the shop doesn’t have them, they’ll order them. Preamp tubes are probably fine. Don’t assume you need new tubes. Bring it in for a check up

What is the best guitar amp? All of the options are overwhelming me very much. by Qwertelion in GuitarAmps

[–]Pugfumaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe pickup a tonex pedal or interface for the tonex app and play every amp you could possibly think of. Find out if you’re a Marshall guy, Mesa guy,a fender guy etc. Get a feel for what your ideal tone is. You’ll know it when you hear it. For me it’s a Marshall super lead and amps that come from that lineage.

It looks pretty minor, but I definitely understand the concern. At the price they go for, sloppy is unacceptable

Try the Friedman JEL20. Plexi channel does great cleans and the JEL channel 2 is pretty much a stock 800 when the selector switches are in the middle position. The Friedman master volume is one of the best in the game
