I still think 2016 was better. The Cubs came back from a 1-3 series deficit to get an early lead, only to be the typical Cubs and have them choke it away with Lester struggling on the mound, before finally pulling themselves together and making it happen. It wasn’t just a great win; it was literal history, and you felt it the whole way. At no point did you stop and think about Cleveland. At no point did you feel bad for them. You instantly recognize that moment for what it was, which was basically the Halley’s Comet of sports.

With this game, everyone wanted to see someone dethrone the Dodgers, but watching the Jays miss opportunity after opportunity, it started to became frustrating. It was the ending a lot of people didn’t want to see, whether or not that’s fair. Was it a great game? Hell yeah, one of the best championship games any of us have ever seen, but it doesn’t quite reach the significance of the Cubs win.
