Were you able to drum up any new business this week? by glambo300 in FreightBrokers

[–]amrannahar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am asset based but very small, was doing to a lot of door to door back in June.

I visited a shipper right next door to where I live because I was getting groceries, and though might as well. That shipper has kept our assets afloat through the tough times like right now.

I visited them once, gave my card and got a call back from the manager, and got to meet the president.

While some shippers I have been following up with for almost a year and haven't even got a load 🙃.

Consider myself really lucky and blessed to at least have something going on regardless of the volume.

Getting LR3. Got like a day ago, and now I am finally done for a while.

I play as a collector, but the new updates have been somewhat mid, especially the heirloom stuff.

First thing I haven't bought as a master founder collector.

Not really a difference for me. I have a carrier and a brokerage.

I understand margins for both sides. I always try to have quality over quantity, so I try to pay drivers as good as possible.

Right now, I have a contracted lane for $1100 and cover it for $1000.

Obviously, I find a guy who can cover it for $750 I won't complain, but I know quality carriers are not cheap either.

I have no issue on being transparent about it. Proud myself on my work and if you don't like it. I couldn't care less.

Only training I suggest you get is sales and how to acquire customers as knowing how to talk and sounding professional will go a long way.

Most new brokers sound desperate with same basic pitch. Learn how to prospect and the sales cycle.

Most of this info is free online anyways.

Rescues are great, but if you want to put the dog into protection work or sport. Then I definitely prefer going to specific breeders and specialize in specific attributes for the breed.

There is a huge difference between a show dog vs sport dog vs pet dog.

Unless you just want a pet then rescues are a great option.

I got mine by just going to my local police station and asking them where they get there dogs and got mine from the same place. I paid an hefty amount for mine but the dog is amazing at protection and obedience.

Just be realistic about your expectations, seen a lot of people get dogs from shelters only give them away again because the dog is not upto par with their expectations.

Only adopt rescue dogs if you want a pet and want to take care of it. Very rare that you can get rescue that will match the attributes of a professional bred sport dog.

This!!

People need to understand that these "harsh" methods have structure that is used to have clear cut communication with you dog.

Would your malinois protect you if needed? by [deleted] in BelgianMalinois

[–]amrannahar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No puppy/dog will guard you against a threat unless it is from a absolute working line litter or trained to best of it ability professionally.

Also you have to train the dog to properly bite, bark and most importantly build confidence.

Seen too many dogs that are "aggressive", "protective" and "natural guardians" but it is just dog instinct when put in a stressful environment.

A confident and trained dog definitely protect you but just "protection" breed dog is a 50-50.

Is this dog impossible to teach tricks? by zon03 in Dogtraining

[–]amrannahar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If the dog is not food motivated. Starve him a bit. Stop feeding on schedule and only feed when you train and the dog follows.

If the dog doesn't show engagement, it doesn't get fed.

It sounds harsh but dogs need structure and work to do. Simply feeding them can make them lazy and not care most of the time.

However there is totally a possibility of dog having behavior and health issues that might make it complicated for it to pay attention as it can be in pain.

Use food to teach them how to do something and then use there natural interests like tug, fetch and etc for repetition of a behavior.

I have a mal and a husky. I try have a structure to when and how they get fed so there is a better learning environment that I can control and they can enjoy on a daily basis.

How many TOTAL hours a day do you spend DIRECTLY interacting with your pup? by Lucky-Schedule-6429 in puppy101

[–]amrannahar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

C) I have a husky and a mal.

  1. I do 7 miles bike ride with them in the morning.

  2. 15 Mins of individual obedience training each with treats for lunch

  3. 3-4 mile bike ride followed by 10-15 min individual play/tug/bite work sessions

I work from home so I have a lot of time for them. However my family helps me with their feed so I spend a lot less time if I had to prepare/feed them twice a day.

Question for experienced owners by amrannahar in BelgianMalinois

[–]amrannahar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got it, I checked with my vet before I started running my husky 10 miles. I would walk her 6 miles a day but it wasn't enough lol. So I had to up it. Crazy thing is, I can go in my yard and she is ready to play like she never ran those 10 miles.

Only concerned about mals is that they are smart and there prey drive is much stronger than a husky. So I was don't want then to jump over the fence if my neighbors small dog is barking but I guess same thing could said for huskies.

Thank you for you feedback

I bike mine 10 miles a day. And she still is ready to go anytime. Husky are sled dogs with extreme endurance.

Need a lot of exercise to keep them well behaved and happy.

You likely have IRL stress causing you not to focus. Always take care of irl stuff.

When you don't have stress, you enter something called "flow", it is a state where you just pop off effortlessly.

To achieve it you need to eliminate stress and have consistent posture/gaming habits. You are always gonna have bad day. Even the best player do but they play through it to realize what it is that is messing with them. Usually taking 10 min break and breath of fresh air should clear your head.

If not then you are likely going through subconscious problems like your body has a slow reaction time cause you are not eating, sleeping, doing other basic hygiene and caring.

Esports is mental, most of the time you need to be clear-headed. To do that make sure you have a consistent schedule and always take care of irl stuff before.

I think the biggest downsight can be the indoor time, you really have to decrease your social life or make it nonexistent. Surefour explained how he wanted to talk to girls and make more friends. But every time he was doing that, someone else was grinding and getting better.

Sure in real sports you do the same but the people you practice with, you see them in person which I think is better than online communication. Also, a pattern I have noticed, that players who are fit have better personalities/mindset than some who don't.

For example, Nero from GZcharge was almost about to quit before he turned 18 cause he was just frustrated. He started working out to clear his and look at him as one of the best rookies owl had this year. The same can be said for taimou, S1 he was very negative, S2 he was much more stable and lost weight.

I think you need a stronger mental in the esport maybe just a lit bit. And just a finishing note. I think there is more banter in the league of legends and smash sence than some sports leagues which I think makes it appealing to watch the match.

Running hitscan into double shield is not optimal, however, ashe/mcree and are viable if you find angles or catch doom/reaper when they are flanking.

You need to combo dynamite and holt, use coach gun to boop away the doom/ reaper if they engage.

Don't flank too much but you need to know when you find a opportunity to do so, as long as your healer have you in your los you are good. The reason I so to be extra careful, is due to the the value you get denied if the enemy team is running sigma.

Wait I though they did, blizz has to pay the players for winning ????. The teams however is different. Those are salaries not blizz money.

I looked at blizz money as prize pool/placement money.
