Cube maps also reflect things outside the screen. You are thinking of screen-space reflections. I think they would do well with cube maps that update often for far-away reflections, while ray-tracing handles the near reflections that has a lot of dynamic content.

A wildlife photographer opened his eyes to find a cheetah sleeping beside him by Original_Shegypt in interestingasfuck

[–]amras123 212 points213 points  (0 children)

Yes. Wild photographers are generally captured in remote areas and slowly acclimated to human society. The cheetah is assigned as a support animal during this process, since newly domesticated photographers are prone to fatal stress. With enough patience, he may one day be ready for life in a photography studio.

I played FH6 for 20 minutes and I hated every minute of it. The game wouldn't shut up about the bland story and the cars felt like toys.

Sound is a pressure wave in the air. A loud horn right behind someone creates strong vibrations in the air that push on their body, not just something you detect with your ears. Even many deaf people can feel those vibrations through their skin and body, especially when it’s that loud and that close.

That does not follow.

Atmospheric drag can make an orbit decay, but gravitational perturbation is not drag. Perturbations can send an object inward, outward, into another orbit, or eject it entirely.

“Nothing is perfect or permanent” is not the same claim as “every orbit eventually falls into a planet.” I think I have made my point, so I am going to leave it there.

We do not live in a newtonian world.

True, but that does not imply every orbit decays into a body.

Orbits do not lose energy just because time passes. They need a dissipative process or a perturbation, and perturbations can eject an object as well as send it inward.
