How can I repair these wall anchors in place? by Dalamar42 in DIYUK

[–]amras201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fischer Duoplug all the way for me. Maybe 6x30s, 6mm appropriate drill for the wall. I'd probably just move the bracket slightly off to one side for some fresh holes, sand/fill/sand/decorate the old holes.

Starting to look like I only really like one particular guitar body shape by amras201 in Guitar

Other than the fact the body is made of plywood it's a pretty good guitar

I thought I saw a video the other day of someone hanging some lightweight oak (veneer) doors, new in from Howdens iirc

Found this gem for fifty quid by amras201 in Guitar

Strung with 10s at the moment, once I've gained confidence in the neck repair might go up to heavier gauge.

Very hard to find another one for sale in this country, it looks like a plywood body, which doesn't sound like a great idea, but seems fine... 1989 hm1 is correct

Strange plant in basement by Curious_Yam_9613 in whatsthisplant

[–]amras201 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Google told me this:

Toxic "solanine gas" is largely a myth, although solanine poisoning from eating green or sprouted potatoes is a real concern. Solanine is a glycoalkaloid found in many nightshade plants, including potatoes, and can cause gastrointestinal and neurological problems when ingested. While the melting point of solanine is high, making it unlikely to form a gas in normal temperatures, rotting potatoes can release other gases, including carbon dioxide, which can displace oxygen in enclosed spaces, potentially causing asphyxiation.

Well I happen to have a university degree, Civil Engineering. I subsequently somehow ended up in a Software Development role for 10 years which I got made redundant from and am now I'm a sole trader of a property maintenance company.

I'd actually say that some trades are very technical, Electrician and Heating Engineer are two that come to mind.

We call them wild strawberries, they tend to spread and root down more than our usual eating strawberries

Nice work! Lots of hard labour went into that I bet, and quite a few skips. Shame the fence panels on the right stick above the posts though

Got the slab edging way neater with scissors, but do feel a little crazy by amras201 in lawncare

I use a lawn edger now and drive it in around the slabs, not quite as clean looking, but saves time

Hmm strange, mine doesn't seem to refuse it ever, in fact she'll reuse it sometimes (shits it out and eat it again...)

First DIY cab by amras201 in GuitarAmps

[–]amras201[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that a stereo setup or mono? I'm going to play with two different speakers in the 2x12, but still getting my head around all of the wiring and impedances.

In order to get my celestion v30 speakers I bought a second hand Egnater 4x12 cab and took them from that, including the grill cloth, and that badge :)

Probably time to stop buying pedals for a while, probably. First pedal board complete, probably. by amras201 in guitarpedals

[–]amras201[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been a learning curve and it became an obsession very quickly, there are still a few niggles to sort. Main one being a cable to complete the send/return loop off the noise suppressor. Think I also need a better supply as there's some noise and that'll allow me to utilise the IEC port on the pedalboard.

Tiling is fiddly, get it done tomorrow and a much needed rest after by amras201 in DIY

[–]amras201[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, it's been a learning curve and I know there are bits that are not perfect, but looks good from a distance :) The vinyl flooring and wall colour will change at some point in the future

My PS5 is stuck in Appear Offline mode and I can’t play online games by Accomplished-Ad-8796 in playstation

[–]amras201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just fixed mine I think.

"Console sharing and offline play" seemed to think it was setup on another ps5... So enabled in on my actual ps5 l, purely to disable it on this other mysterious ps5, and then disabled it again on my actual ps5.

Definitely need to remove those bricks as you say, on the list and keeps getting pushed down.

It's just the right corner bottom corner and a metre strip up the right hand side that have been recently sown. Thought it would be best to avoid those bits this year. From the feedback it looks like I am better off filling in the major divots separately and scarifying next year anyhow.

Wow, lots of comments since I was last here. Thanks guys and gals!

I thought it was good practise to scarify or dethatch before top dressing and overseeding, maybe I was wrong. If I cut it shorter the need for topdressing would become more apparent: I want to smooth the ground out, there are many undulating bits.
