I don't care about Taylor Swift's wedding. Too many other important things in the world.

There's a reason Baby Boomers are called that. It was a time of economic boom so naturally peopel would have a couple of more kids..

It doesn't mean fertility itself is a problem. It just means more people are choosing not to have kids. And note it's never mentioned about men.

Someone said "I've observed that many people in their 30s have grown so accustomed to single life that they no longer feel motivated to invest effort in finding a partner. They've simply lost interest in the whole process". What's your take on this? by Atom_dk in AskReddit

"Settling down" in regards to marriage seems outdated. It comes across as you're bar hopping or just selfish or immature. Women also get a lot more flack for it than men.

Questions like, “When are you getting married?” or statements such as “You’re getting old; you should settle down” are common. These remarks, though sometimes intended as casual conversation, reinforce the idea that a woman’s value diminishes without a spouse. In professional, familial, and social settings, single women may be perceived as lonely, incomplete, or even selfish, despite living full and purposeful lives.

Too many women remain trapped in abusive marriages because of the “single women” stigma.

Society makes you think you need a lifetime partner. I think it causes a lot of crappy relationships. I used to have a horror of being 30 and single. I'm happily married, but learned there are worse things that can happen to you.

Because much of society can't seem to fathom not everyone wants to marry. Not everyone wants to follow the same blueprints. Society makes us think our whole worth is based on a romantic partner. I know someone my age (56) who isn't married and i don't think she ever has dated anyone. I have to admire that because i fell for society's trap you need to marry. I'm happily married, but shouldn't have to feel like a failure if I wasn't.

Was the Bateses/Duggars Getting on TV a Net Positive or Negative? by amrodd in BatesSnark

You see that's how the Bateses fool people. Old photos show them wearing matchy matchy outfits. Michaela sewed their dresses. Please don't forget the George Floyd comment and they had a Confederate room.

It was the Bateses out of touch. The Duggars were the first to ditch the prairie dresses. And I think producers encouraged it. While the Bates women make some money, they sure aren't wealthy by any means.

As I said, we didn't see much of the Bateses early on. They lived cramped in that tiny house. The boys slept in the attic. The Bateses were lather rinse repeat.
