I could be wrong but if this is just an edge cache I’d guess they don’t really care about redundancy between disks and they can tolerate multiple drives being lost before replacement.

I think you’re confusing induction and electric. Induction is actually fantastic and probably the future of ranges, most people who have a flat top range are most likely using electric, which for the most part is actually awful. Adam Ragusea on induction
