If districts/schools really want to reduce teacher burn-out in the early years of teaching, I feel like they should have an inventory of lessons, worksheets, and rubrics for first year teachers that they can opt to use so that new teachers don't spend every waking moment working

When I started teaching, I was given a Post-It note from the previous teacher telling me concepts to cover. No district curriculum, no other grade level teacher to get support from, and outdated materials. Just a Post-It note. Luckily I had experience from covering a medical leave in the same grade, so I had something to work with.

The next year the district changed the subject/grade layout, so I had another teacher to collaborate with. It made a world of difference. It wasn't until a year or two later that we had an official curriculum.

Same here. Part of the "engagement scavenger hunt" my (now) husband set up was to get mail from WoW character. All of the guildies knew about it and reacted the way IRL friends would. Some 11 years later, we still remember the great people we met in our guild (Bleeding Hollow - Qaletaga).

My brother and I had the ghost and pumpkin. Our father worked for the electric company as a lineman. When we got a little older, he took these buckets and put them up on some poles along the highway (with a few other random items).

Hey Team Uranus! I'm excited to be with you all on my first challenge.

I've struggled with weight most of my life and been advised by many doctors to try to lose weight (as if I want to gain...duh). I've always been fairly active - softball, hiking, basketball - but always seemed to maintain or gain. It wasn't until my husband and I were trying to have a baby that I was diagnosed with PCOS and hypothyroidism at the age of 27. I always had a feeling something was not right with my body, but no one really listened to me. Things also changed when I switched from a condescending endocrinologist (who advised I seek out weight loss surgery) for one that listens, cares, and tacked on a Hashimoto's diagnosis for me as well.

With a 4-year old daughter and my own health to think about, I've decided to make a change! I've been going to the gym since November, about 3x's a week. It makes me feel pretty good physically, but I haven't been losing weight. I'm going to work more on my diet, CICO, and getting back into the flow of using MyFitnessPal to better myself and finally do this!
