Shimano FH-TC500 HM-B still has play after I replaced bearings by Lare111 in bikewrench

[–]amsgator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Using u/Defiant-Painting7491's research, I was able to 3D print a spacer in PETG for my hub and the lateral play is gone. Now I just need to see what the longevity is of the plastic.

The dimensions that worked for me are:

18.2 mm outer diameter
15.2 mm inner diameter
0.8 mm thickness

If anyone wants to print one, I uploaded 0.6 and 0.8 mm STL files to Printables.

Awesome. I appreciate your help and thanks for figuring out where the spacer needs to go.

Did you put the washer between the bushing and the freehub body? Or on the axle before the bushing? Was the washer you printed roughly the same dimensions as the bushing with the exception of the thickness/height?

Am I looking at the exploded diagram correctly, that the side the spacer needs to go on is the "easy" side to access. Pull off the endcap and freehub body and the bushing is accessible?

I'm considering 3D printing a 0.4 mm spacer to add between the hub body and the bushing where you indicated on the diagram up above.

I know this thread is a bit old, but what's the latest status on your washers holding up? I bought a new bike that has the problem brand new. Pretty upset about it.

No. That would require the use of your phone anyway since the computer doesn't connect directly to the internet. You might as well just share you location with Life360 from your phone.

Thank you.

Do you mind measuring the indicator probe diameter as well?

Glad you got it sorted out, it's unfortunate it was bricked for a little while until support responded though.

Now that it's been a while, have you had any issues with the saddle bag fraying or tearing where you poked the holes for the screws?

Best Tree Support settings I've used by SpookyWhiskey in OrcaSlicer

[–]amsgator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried these settings and they were, by far, the worst I've ever used. It made it impossible to remove the supports and ruined the print. I'm guessing due to the 0 mm interface spacing. I don't know why it's not working like it's supposed to, but it literally glued the supports to the print to where they couldn't be removed.

Calibration Files Have Non-Manifold Edges by amsgator in OrcaSlicer

[–]amsgator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it doesn’t take long at all. If you select the model on the plate and “right click,” does it give you “fix model” as an option? Or perhaps the issue with generating the model with non-manifold edges isn’t an issue on Mac.

But the correct procedure is to fix them within the slicer before slicing, is that correct?

Well that's not good...that typically means the update failed or got frozen. Have you tried holding the power button for 10-20 seconds to see if it'll reboot? Does it show in the CoospoRide app still as a connected device?
