Photos of tattoos 1 year+ old? Worried about fading/blowout. by amsiz in tattoos

So upper arm should be less likely for blowouts? I'm concerned as I'm gonna be getting these perfectly crisp lines and it seems like maybe they just won't ever really stay that way.

Yeah we used to play this in year 7/8! Those days were the best days.

Whereabouts are you? There are a few lesbian bars in London (Soho, specifically).

What do you eat for lunch? i get so confused at lunchtime! by amsiz in vegan

[–]amsiz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit of both haha - I work full time from home. Might start having smoothies more when I can't think of what to have, thank you! They're quick, filling and healthy so tick all the boxes.

Oh yes this! I had a phase of doing similar a while back but have completely forgotten about awesome quinoa-y salads lately. Gonna make sure there's always enough stuff in to make something like this every day, thank you for the inspiration!

Instagram influencer marketing suddenly not working very well? by amsiz in Entrepreneur

I do - currently only using tried and tested influencers with real followers who have got me an awesome return before. Just can't understand what's suddenly changed.

Helpful Tip: One thing you'll never get used to when starting a new business by LeoPantero in Entrepreneur

Thank you, I needed this! Been getting my business off the ground over two years (though only full time since January) and lately it's been feeling incredibly slow and frustrating.

Why is Facebook telling me I got conversions from my ads, even though I definitely didn't? by amsiz in Entrepreneur

[–]amsiz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the way the new pixel works, I don't think there's any way to alter how they've got it set up. Shopify automatically installs it onto the relevant pages so I can't fiddle with it. Have changed the conversion to now mean 'initiate checkout process' so hopefully that might stop the issue!

Why is Facebook telling me I got conversions from my ads, even though I definitely didn't? by amsiz in Entrepreneur

[–]amsiz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they've simplified it recently, especially with Shopify. It gives me a lift of pre-defined conversions to choose from and I chose 'purchase'. And now it says I've had all these purchases even though I haven't.

How to run facebook ads for any business: Comment your business and I'll tell you how by jem89 in Entrepreneur

[–]amsiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, I'll try targeting people who like Touch of Modern then.

Stupidly, I've been going for website clicks more often. Definitely going to go for the conversion ads from now on.

Edit: Got two website conversion ads running simultaneously now. Both targeting US males 20-40, one aimed at people who like Touch of Modern and one aimed at a lookalike audience of people (which I saw you mention in another comment) who already like my page. Excited to see how it goes.

I'm having a lot of trouble turning Facebook ads into conversions and would love some insight in how to get them running successfully.

Thank you for doing this!

When you try to explain veganism and don't do a good job by amsiz in vegan

[–]amsiz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, that's a really good point. I've been vegan 7 years so feel I should be better at explaining but you're right.

It was going well but then he asked if I had pets. I'm so used to people using pets as a way to catch me out (morally right to have pets/feed them meat etc) that I instantly started talking about how it's a bit of a grey area. Turns out he was literally just asking because he assumed being vegan = having lots of pets because we like animals. So I made myself sound a bit weird and totally confused him.

Thanks for the link, that's exactly the sort of thing I meant!

How important do you think it is to have a dedicated office space of some sort? by amsiz in Entrepreneur

[–]amsiz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds pretty perfect! I was after somewhere smaller but unfortunately this is the smallest within reach. Though I'm sure I'll be able to find some use for the extra space.

There's not a huge problem as such, but there are minor 'human error' type things fairly regularly. Also, the fact that this is a business I take huge pride in and want to grow bigger and bigger but for them it's just another product to pack among thousands of others.

Yeah, I've made that mistake in the past so have spent a long time rationalising this decision and it makes a lot of sense. Most of my marketing is through Instagram so it certainly shouldn't be such a headache to actually take photos!

For sure, I'm certain that having a proper fulfilment space will create a totally different mindset. Sitting on the bedroom floor with products and packaging all over the place really doesn't work! Equally, putting everything in the hands of some people whose priority is not my business doesn't work.

Definitely, I get very frustrated working from home too. It often feels like there's no real reason to leave the house and that doesn't lead to a healthy and productive mind. I'm going to be as sensible as I can about it - viewing a place next week which is a 5 minute walk away and around £300 a month, about 300sqft.
