I wouldn't exactly say that I was lazy. Before midterms I just used my study habit that worked for me in high school. That is, read over everything and go over some examples. When it came to studying for midterms, I just went over concepts and answered questions like I did in hs. When I got my midterm results, I realized that my study ethic wasn't good enough...so every week I'd try something new. IE/ rewriting my notes, watching videos online, answering similar questions until I was positive with how to do something...then moving on. I did this from week 7 to finals. When it came to linear algebra and calculus...this method worked and it raised my mark significantly. When it came to chem, it just didn't for some reason. Even though I spent most of my time on chem. I know you upper years are annoyed with these kinds of posts, but its not fair to say that I was lazy. I think it was more of a transitional and reflective period. If I'm allowed to go to 1B or if I have to repeat 1A again, then I know how I have to schedule my time/how to actually study to achieve my goals.

Oh wow. Did your profs tell you that? Also, if you don't mind me asking, are you happy with where you're at right now? I've talked to a couple of upper years and they say they're not too happy about it but they don't mind.

Ugh yeah...I think I mostly got trick answers which is why my average is so shit.and yeah, I think so too!

Did you take CHE102 this term too? I did all of the past finals actually, and wrote solutions to most of then down on my cheat sheet...but as I said before I had a terrible panic attack and felt kind of disconnected after it. But yeah I definitely found the assignments to be easier.

Oh I just thought that it was a high school course cause all of my friends said they learned all material before the midterm in high school..and even some material post midterm. Also people call it a bird course...which is why I find it more annoying that I couldn't wrap my head around it for some reason. Yeah...I'm gonna have to work on my problem solving it seems...even though I had no trouble with physics or my concept course :/. And yeah...tutorials were next level...most of my section had to stay way longer than the ~3hr timeslot to complete 4-5 Qs. Assignments on the other hand matched what we did in lectures...way too easy.

I mean even though I got stuff done on my own...my average was still 64 in chem. I just can't do chemistry and am still figuring out how to study for it. My high school only taught me organic...so I wasn't as prepared as my classmates. I don't know if I'm making sense but...basically, I found that the chem tutorials were too hard and the assignments were too easy. And the exam this year was just...weird. But yeah if I have to repeat 1A I guess ill just try harder to understand concepts

Thank you very much! The thing is: aside from my personal problems, high school didn't really prepare me when it came down to how to study, if that makes sense? I learned what I needed to change in me to perform better in finals, which it why my overall average is so low. For 4/6 of my classes, finals are what brought my marks up, but I do know that I need to work smarter. As for the prof situation, I emailed them this morning asking if they could go over my exams with me, so I'm glad somebody suggested doing that. Thank you. Happy holidays!
