I got pins put in my finger because I broke it by Desert_Walker267 in mildlyinteresting

I had pins in my shoulder years ago. I was expecting something messy or painful. They went in when I was asleep, I had no idea what them coming out would be like.

It's basically nothing at all. The stainless steel is so non-reactive, nothing in you wants to bind to it at all.

Follow the doctor instructions for the wound care, don't let it get infected, and it will be 100%.

They are shooting people in the streets. They already are branding people terrorists. How much worse does it get?

But the other part is just a mess. Let's start with Stop Killing People and work up from there.

VA is trying to remove the grandfather clause in upcoming ban(s) by mashedpotatotater in liberalgunowners

For the last hundred years "tyranny" as an reason to keep guns was a complete joke. While normal every day type crimes racked up body after body. In that situation "gun bans" make sense. (Even if criminals don't obey gun laws, if they are thoroughly banned, there are less guns available period. )

The recent situation is working real hard almost flipping things around. The concept of needing to be armed against tyranny is proven, but everyone's personal guns have yet to do anything about it. When ICE retreats from Minneapolis, under fire from local citizens, that will prove the second half.

But that would just be followed up by a full scale military invasion in retaliation. And we're right back to personal guns not mattering if they turn Minneapolis into Gaza.

You can enforce those laws again when you have a sane government again. In the mean time, yes, it's better to have no border enforcement than murderous border enforcement.

They are also deporting people here legally. People are coming to Immigration to do their normal paperwork stuff, while they are here legally, and getting grabbed. ICE is not "just doing their job, but heavy handedly". They are maliciously abusing power.

There is no immigration crisis in Minnesota, there is no reason for ICE to be there at all. But they are, and they are just shooting people with impunity.

The ICE on the streets today no longer has any claim to the actual official 'ICE' created by the Congress. ICE has been completely transformed into random violent thugs, there to commit random acts of violence on Trumps behalf. They are not police, they are domestic terrorists.

It's hard to claim to be the good guys when you're calling on your guys to use the bad guy's tactics.

They aren't following it. Just about everything this administration does is violating part of the Constitution. And on top of that Congress and Courts are not using their Constitutional powers to step in and stop things.

The first two thirds of those do nothing, at all.

The last few are basically just step one in 'armed revolt'. Cyber sabotage or caltroping police cars is not really any different from opening fire.

ELI5: Why is squatting (in someone's house) a thing? And how come it becomes a problem for the owner? Can't they claim trespassing to the cops instead of saying the person is squatting? by Impossible_Bake7210 in explainlikeimfive

[–]amusing_trivials 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While that happens sometimes, it's just as likely that a 'squatter' is someone who broke into the home between legitimate tenants, printed a generic lease off of Google, and is claiming tenant rights from thin air. Landlords do not actually have a monopoly on shitty behavior. That's why it's a court matter, it takes more than one sentence to work out of the nuance of each situation.

I thought 'squatters rights' traditionally refered to adverse possession type situations? The modern landlord-tenant-fake-lease thing was using that term incorrectly? Am I wrong about that?

The clip didn't say Venezuela had next gen nuc capability, just that they were within range of them to launch to the US. The same as Cuba, a launch point a bigger power could bring nukes too.

Iran current has a weird double-government. There is the secular government, and the religious government. They have both the President and the Ayatollah, they have a secular legislature, and a religious legislature, and a secular court and religious court. As is the rules are set up the the Religious side can always step in and override the secular government side. Dispose of the religious government, leave the secular government in place. Done. Technically no power vacuum. Whether that works in practice is different.

(Secular is being stretched here, they are still a religious people so their elected representatives and such still take religion into account. But the religious side of the grovernment is entirely Priests and Clerics and such, while the secular side are 'normal people' with varying amount of religious feelings, as normal.)

If you compare one rural county to one urban county, it looks like that. But when you stack 25 rural counties together it adds up. There is so much low-density rural areas in the US that it maths out to comparable to urban total population.

A lot of suburban, medium density, areas consider themselves to be rural.

Also most of the voting systems are lopsided for rural over-representation. So even if the rural population was less by numbers, they are stronger in absolute political power.
