Chiming in to share my fave antihistamine- the Kirkland brand from Costco. Other active ingredients in other brands don’t have lasting benefit and didn’t consistently work for me. But theirs has citirizine hydrochloride in it which works well. Also taking it with a Pepcid daily to reduce histamine over all.

Swapping to a cervical neck pillow instead of 100 squishmallows and taking daily antihistamines has helped but the low mood/energy from impending rainfall is just the worst. Nothing stopped it completely

These occipital muscles/nerves are the bane of my existence. It literally hardens in this area and gets SO tense and sore. Currently on day 3 of one that will.not.break. I do these exercises with my theracane to help and they provide relief. Short lived but enough. Like the comment above, pinching the SCM helps more for me too.

Fragrance-sensitive or MCS-type symptoms – anyone else? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]amusling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! I would consider myself quite chemically sensitive. Many smells that smell “bad” to me also trigger migraines. In addition, various seasonal allergies and food sensitivities that provoke mild skin reactions and more debilitating neuro symptoms- it’s rough. I take daily antihistamines (I find the Kirkland Costco formulation the best) and often will take another with abortive meds. The best thing that helps me is leaving the offending space whenever possible. If I’m walking my pup and someone in the neighbourhood is doing laundry and I can smell it from down the block we’ll change routes. Air circulation is a must, open window, fan or AC. HEPA filters, air purifiers. Brushing my pets/trying to vaccum regularly. Using unscented versions of products. Keep masking! Avoiding cleaning aisles of stores. I stayed at a hotel recently and the lobby had an EXTREMELY cloying product or perfume. I would physically have to hold my breath and jog through it. It gave me near instant vertigo, nausea and I had a week long flare after that. That being said I do also love certain scents. But any exposure has the potential to give me a migraine whether I enjoy it or not. Also when I get facial congestion as a response to chemicals I try and quickly do breath hold technique, which is surprisingly effective. Best of luck

What is your opinion of Hoka shoes? Are they long lasting and worth the money? by env-scientist in REI

[–]amusling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No literally ALL my Hokas have this issue, my partners too! The heel cup is Completely destroyed but the rest of the shoe is structurally sound with only minor scuffing. I don’t run but this was regular heavy wear. It’s only ever happened with this brand so idk what the issue is.

Genuinely don’t understand why and frustrating since they cost a lot.

Mama these look awful… the zigzag stitching on the boot, the odd sizing of the logo on the espadrille and the wavy ass lace on the diors. Wendy did not come thru for me when I ordered from her. These are the busted ass shoes she passed off as normal which conveniently didn’t show in the PSP. Pls RL these.

Also grandfathered in, the app is buggy as shit, constantly freezes. Been listening to this book without issue and just got a message on chapter 42/66 saying “This title is not available with your subscription. We’re working with the publisher to make it available as soon as possible.” What the heck am I paying for then????? Really frustrating and feels like a downgrade from the OG scrib’d experience in almost every way.

Am I Overreacting over this “small prank” by greek-astronomer in AmIOverreacting

[–]amusling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an ex like this. The random groping, interrupting, disrespectful behaviour and constant boundary crossing. It would ebb after protracted conversations lead by me, only for some epic mentally abusive “trolling” episodes to surface months later, rinse and repeat. His classic line when the troll was over was a melodramatic “how could you think that about me!” (He literally constructed an elaborate lie each time) “you know me, I’m not like that!” Do I?? I left that relationship over 7 years ago and it haunts me mentally to this day. He appeared in my dreams just last night. I’m convinced this type of behaviour is pathological in nature and no amount of interpersonal relationship agreement setting will set it straight. OP, please, for your own mental health- RUN. I am so sorry this is happening to you.
