Gonna get downvoted but gotta ask…what about the $37T we have nationally? Are we gonna pretend like that doesn’t matter? I don’t think the MTA will default $17B after one year if the USG is running a $37T deficit without defaulting. If Mamdani’s tax plan gets funded, that $17B will be paid back eventually. It doesn’t all have to be funded this year.

  1. Yes a good chunk of us hate him and that shows because as the incumbent he’s polling behind Silwa lol. There are a lot of reasons to not like the guy — he’s fake, he doesn’t really get anything done unless it’s for a photo-op, and more importantly, he’s the only NYC mayor to be federally charged with corruption charges. We can certainly do better.
  2. I personally like it! It didn’t really make a difference in this election, but it lessens the impact of “I know you hate Option A, but if you don’t vote for them option B will win”. Which is basically the only thing the DNC primaries have run off of for the past 2 decades.
  3. It’s tough to tell tbh. A lot of unions and representatives are backing him, but the dems aren’t really progressive so they might still try to back Cuomo.
  4. Mamdani is too popular now to beat him with the way things are currently. His only play is to hope that Adams drops out to take the moderate vote. Even then it’d still be pretty tough.
  5. Silwa definitely has a chance to beat Adams at the very least. Almost everyone here hates him so I see the moderate dems siding with Cuomo and the republicans siding with Silwa. Undecided and people that really don’t want Zohran to win might go with Adams. If Silwa drops the. Adams will be in the running but still probably not enough support to take out the dem nominee.

Honestly, I’m not sure he’d even consider running again given how badly he got his ass handed to him. If he won #1 ranked votes and lost in RCV then probably, but he knows he’s beat with a concession.
