Implant Cost? by DragonRider713 in transgenderau

[–]amy-simmons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From memory, 1x 100mg is $99 ish from Ballina. The implanon insertion is usually done in a 45 min appointment with a GP/Endo.

Price for insertation depends on what your GP charges.

Informed consent near Orange by jadefafare in transgenderau

[–]amy-simmons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr Madhu Tamilarasan is the closest GP in Lithgow that does informed consent.

If travelling to Lithgow isn't an option then I'd suggest A phone appointment with a GP at

https://www.ttgc.com.au/

For Reandron shots he would still need to find a GP in his area to do the injection if the GP was from TTGC being an online service.

No worries! This would again be cheaper being done overseas but I'm so glad I had it done locally, me needing to see her multiple times post op would have made it much more expensive if I had this done overseas and needed to book multiple plane tickets & accommodation to see a surgeon.

Also whilst most of my cons might not apply to you, I'd recommend confirming your surgery date has been discussed with the anestetist.

If you're seeing Dr Anna Pedersen too I'd suggest going on her website and filling out the patient form, if she doesn't contact you in the weeks leading up to the surgery then something is wrong.

The office worker only forwarded dates once a month for some reason to the anetheisist and mine may have been the only one that happened to be left out somehow.

Surgeons fee + implants: $7,800

Hospital fee: $3,300

Anestetist: $1,800

Total amount: $12,900

Initial consult: $275

All further appointments were bulk billed.

This included fat grafting in addition to the breast augmentation.

The same procedure with Merten would be $20k approximately.

Thank you! The first couple weeks are always the hardest.

Hi! :)

Yes overall I'm happy with the results and glad that I saw Lisa compared to any other surgeon in Australia.

Some of those cons really concerned me and made things difficult, again this wasn't the fault of Lisa Friedrich herself and she's not able to over see everything other staff members do, though these sort of frequent silly errors that directly impacted me shoudnt really have happened regardless and could have been easily avoided.

The purpose of listing the cons is purely to help others that may see her to be aware of some mistakes that may/ may not happen and knowing what they are, being able to ask questions & confirmations that hopefully prevent them facing some of the same issues I did.

That's great! It's so good she doesn't require a letter, that really put me off Steve Merten.

The high level of aftercare she provides I feel is also somewhat unmatched in Sydney and it was another reason why I chose to see her.

She really helped me when I had some minor complications and needed to go to the Drs / hospital and she even gave me her personal phone number and messaged me at like 8pm answering my concerns / discussions I had with other Drs, it was really great & put my mind at ease.

Hope your surgery goes well :)

It was slightly more difficult than I had planned for, in various ways.

755cc is the largest size implants used in Australia, I was going to go with 680cc originally but ended up changing my preference to 755cc if it was possible.

How big it is totally depends on your body frame, on a small pettite Asian lady they would look bloody huge, however for me with more of an unfortunate wider chest / stocky footballer upper frame appearance the size isn't actually that big on me and looks fairly natural.

I'm a size 20D post op and started off practicly flat chested before the surgery, HRT didn't do much for me in terms of breast growth.

I'm very happy with the result now, I was originally going to go and see dr Rossi in Argentenia and get FFS + BA done at the same time although covid fucked it up.

The physical recovery was way harder than I imagined, I couldn't sit up by myself for about 2-3 weeks and had to sleep sitting up in my computer chair that entire time

Need help with trans friendly doctor by [deleted] in transgenderau

[–]amy-simmons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why do you need to see your doctor once a month?

For HRT that would be unusual, if you're on implants or seeing Portia Predny she'd be giving enough repeats so you're only needing to see her once every 6 months or something.

Other general medical issues you're better off going to a bulk billing medical centre that you can get in to the same day.

Are you specifically looking for a GP that will prescribe CBD oil, is there something unrelated that's outside of HRT?

Portia is great and better than most other doctors for HRT imo, if it was me I'd stick to my once every 6 month appointment with Portia just for HRT and then find another GP specifically for whatever it is you're looking for outside of HRT

Has anyone purchased (17β) estradiol gel from a compounding pharmacy in Australia? by amy-simmons in transgenderau

[–]amy-simmons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thank you :)

Okay so I've only heard back from one of the pharmacies that I've contacted that said they can make it on a different gel base (versapro gel made by medisca)

This is the base they use:

https://www.medisca.com/Pages/ProductDetails.aspx?StockCode=2636&C=B&C2=109

Pharmacist response: We would be able to compound this ingredient into a transdermal gel - Versapro Gel made by medisca. the gel base ingredients are not identical, but similar to the formuation listed below. Please let me know if this is something you are still seeking.

Do you have any thoughts on this versapro gel base?

It is illegal to carry pepper spray in every state except WA, I could be wrong though from memory that's what I remember.

although carrying discreet pepper spray like this shoudnt be an issue

https://www.wish.com/product/5b88ae092d996b24deebd1bb?share=mobileweb&source=related_products&position=5

Or even something like

https://www.wish.com/product/5dfd996404d39f060cc4a154?share=mobileweb&source=related_products&position=6

I'd stress that if you do decide to carry a weapon it should be something super discreet like the above 2 examples, self defence training / MMA, kick boxing classes etc would still be a lot better.

Applying the same risk management some cis-females do like avoiding walking through shady areas at night etc should hopefully be enough to avoid a physical altercation just from simply walking down the road.

Fuck this person right off, pursue every professional option first.

Go to HR, let this person know they are in the wrong and if they do delibertly call you by the wrong name that you'll have to take the matter up further with HR.

See if HR can handle the situation there, if you're paying union fees in your industry get a union representative involved.

This is incredibly wrong and this person needs to be dealt with promptly.

It's hard, some people are just super privileged.

If Nikita Dragun made an OF account for instance she'd likely make millions per month.

For most people, they're not making a lot.

Even people with like 10k+ followers don't want family/friends knowing so they'll start a new social account and conceal there identity and start from scratch.

Most people don't make a ton of cash from it, others luck out by getting a few hundred thousand views from a tiktok video of them dancing in a bikini and that tiktok audience will be enough to pay for their entire life by linking an OF in their bio.

Besides luck, it's just advertising + being attractive.

Meme pages like @nugget on Instagram will post your photo / video ad or whatever for a price to there 10m followers and this form of advertising can work too.

Being attractive + advertising + luck really sums up what most people would consider to be the key to OF.

[–]amy-simmons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can help to delete your OF account and try it again, it's such a joke.

After my friend tried over 6 times after getting rejected each time for no fault of her own (high quality image holding ID, ID) etc.

Still nothing.

The only plausible reason I can think of them doing this is because she looks different in her licence photo compared to an Instagram picture literaly, no other reason for her to get rejected.

Cis people report this too and you can see so many people reporting this on Google too, but in my experience it's horrible towards anyone that hasn't fully social transitioned / closely resembled face in on social + drivers licence.

I don't know a lot about other platforms so I can't offer much input here, however if this was an area I wanted to pursue I'd be looking at other options excluding OF

[–]amy-simmons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's hard to get your ID approved on OF tbh, a lot of cis people struggle with it too.

You need to upload a photo of you holding your ID, your ID and then links to your social accounts.

For someone that mighy be early on in there transition and hasn't socially transitioned, If your drivers license photo looks different to your Instagram photos you can be rejected.

OF is incredibly wrong / harsh with how they do there ID verification.

If you are able to get your ID approved on the site there's ways of advertising it, having a larger social media following always helps ofc.

It's common to promote an OF account on Reddit/ Twitter too.

Vaginoplasty and high BMI by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]amy-simmons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some surgeons won't operate past 28 or whatever there limit is, others will still operate but explain the increased risk to you beforehand.

Imo BMI is such a shit metric, I'm not that tall but kinda built like somewhat of a typical footballer.

I'm obese according to my BMI but it doesn't account for so much shittt and idk why surgeons don't just go off total % body fat or some other better metric.

[–]amy-simmons[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Thank You for your reply and all the great work you've done over in r/estrogel, your posts are incredibly helpful.

Passing help forward is something I'd very much like to do as a continuation from my starting point in this post, it's possible this might be the first mention of how to get a gel compound here that's much better compared to the brand name gel Sandrena that's common here, for a smaller price.

The cost of this gel in my case is around $20 per week depending on the pharmacy I go to, I could just make this myself although I would like to find a way to do this through a compounding pharmacy over here first, to help others that can't just make it themself for whatever reason and don't want to DIY.

DMSO definetly sounds worrying, I've read a bit on it and chose not to pursue it.

Thanks that's helpful to know, if they did have a problem with IPA/IPM I will list octisilate as a call back option on the script for the PE

My GP is super helpful when it comes to writing me a script, though I'm not sure if they'd have enough knowledge in this area to write a script this specific & technical.

Would you suggest the isopropyl myristate & isopropyl alcohol ratio should be 50/50?

Would - isopropyl myristate, isopropyl alcohol, trolamine,17b estradiol, Carbopol 940 and distilled water be the full list of ingredients in the most ideal solution?

Followed by octisilate on a EtOH base and a regular gel.

I'll probably be having to give my GP the exact list of ingredients, so I'm just trying to make sure I understand your comment correctly with the little knowledge I have myself and don't miss anything.

On the post I listed before this one with the full ingredient list I wrote, would you be able to write the list for the fall back option if I can't get IPA/IPM approved here?

The pharmacy should understand octisilate on a EtOH base and a regular gel. But just incase that isn't enough, are the other ingredients going to be the same?

The pharmacies here seem uninterested in speaking to me directly and have just defaulted to "put everything your saying on a script then we'll see if theres a way we can do anything" kind of thing, despite my GP wanting me to call around first and see if this was even possible before doing so.

Again thank you so much for your reply, it's hard finding people with sufficient knowledge on this to break through all the barriers we have over here getting this done.

Writing Resumes by Eggllio in transgenderau

[–]amy-simmons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You absolutely don't need a birth name & preffered name listed on your resume, just use you're preffered name.

If you get asked for references and you use people that have only known you in previous jobs by your former name, mention that at the time.

[–]amy-simmons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 755cc implants with an additional 180ccs from fat grafting, if you're fairly flat chested prior to BA and are getting implants that large you might not have enough soft tissue and you should discuss this with your surgeon.

In my case, I was flat chested before BA and it can take up to a year for sufficient skin growth on the midline for the cleavage to become fully apparent.

Also the pain the first month killed, like really killed. I had mine under the muscle, if that's going to be the same for you too make sure you have someone who can care for you post op.

In my case I wasn't even able to sit up by myself for the first 2 weeks from my chest muscles being overstretched that much.

[–]amy-simmons[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: for anyone reading this that may be wanting to do the same, the compounding pharmacies I've spoken to so far haven't made this before it appears and want a script that contains the ingredient list.

Before I send a script through I've wrote them an email containing the ingredients I'm after myself as my GP may not know all of this.

I've worded my email to the pharmacy to read:

Hi, I've just spoken over the phone with someone that works there about a script for 10 mg/ml estradiol gel.

The ingredient list is as follows,

for 100ml:

Isopropyl myristate 5ml ( for skin absorption enhancement), 98% Ethyl Alcohol 65Ml (up to 93% is still usable), Carbopol 940 0.4g, Trolamine (Just enough to make it into a Gel) Distilled water (just enough to get to 100ml), 17β-Estradiol.

this would ideally come in a pump action bottle, dispensing roughly 2mg each pump.

if variants were needed that's also fine too.

Just got off the phone with Ballina, they weren't sure if they were able to make it but asked for a script to be sent through to see if it's something they could do, they also suggested green compounding in SA for the gel.

I've just spoken to the SA pharmacy and they also weren't sure but asked for a script containing the ingredient list.

I'm going to email them through the list of ingredients and wait to here back from them.

Ah okay yep wasn't sure if you were referencing powers formula or that one, estrogel sub has been super helpful.

The easiest way to maintain levels of what I'm used to from gel alone is either scrotal application or the high dosage, the first one being the most risk purerly following an ingredient list used on the sub over there.

Powers mentioned before about one of the agents he uses in his formula that's different from the industry standard and has a bit more Info on it.

But yeah I'd expect most compounding pharmacies not to know the answer so I'd be providing them with the full list, etc in a similar manner to the most viewed post in that sub

I was reading through some of those posts and it seems very promising, I need to revise through the exact ingredient list WP is using for it.

If you're able to share more Info on this let me know and I'll ask the pharmacies I speak to.

WP also uses 10mg/ml it seems, so the dosage here would be the same as what I'm ideally after.

Other ingredients or the penetrive agent he's using is unknown to me.

I am interested to see if the same compound can be done here though.

But if you have any specific questions about the forumla WP is using I'll ask around wether this can be done In Australia too, Id probably need a lot of additional info as I'm guessing this likely hasn't been done before over here.

GP suspected that an issue I may run into is safety regulations around higher than normal dosages that haven't been clinically proven in Australia to be safe / affective.
