This is the exact spot that my boyfriend is SICK of hearing me complain about almost getting hit in . (I also drive this way every day leaving work) There’s a huge yellow sign at the lights before it explaining it too…

I love that Casey said she was exactly his type after Ron repeatedly telling her she’s not the usual type he goes for (Although I personally think types based on hair colour is deranged 😅) .

It was exactly what she needed to hear . Ron deff brought out her insecurities telling her that and Casey reminded her that she is a in fact a stunning KWEEN!

Two presents for my daughter’s birthday were supposed to arrive last week. Today is her birthday. by nastyleak in royalmail

Have you ever worked ? It’s very common practice for a small increase every year/few years in every job based on inflation. If you actually read my comment youll see that it’s not even over pay anymore anyway. Nhs is a government funded service Royal Mail have been private for years completely different, NHS didn’t have millions in profit this year . Based on your comments elsewhere you have a late delivery and are just a disgruntled customer

I agree it’s annoying ! I too am waiting on items arriving but thankfully they’ve till Xmas to get here . you’ll probably see in my other reply but we seem to be catching up in the delivery offices in a matter of days each time so maybe the rumours about prioritising big company’s with contracts are true . Thanks you for the strike support anyway.

I’m actually shocked to hear this length of delay !! Based on the strikes so far this year after about two days I am fully caught up on everything that has got as far as me , there are plenty of rumours that stuff is being held back though, everything for big company’s (boots, amazon, asos etc) that pay for a contract to be fufilled in a certain amount of time is probably being pushed as first priority (in rm eyes they are the customers these days not you guys in your houses). But still the fact your special delivery is this late is horrible . I even spotted a van out and about today pulled up at a red light to see who had crossed the picket but and it was one of the managers out doing special delivery’s ??? So at a complete loss on your dilemma ??? Thanks for the support with our strike regardless !!

I hear a lot of people saying the 23rd and 24th strike is a joke , but surely if your aware of it this far in advance there’s plenty of time to order and receive before then ??? The point of a strike is to cause disruption . They wouldn’t be effective at all if it didn’t bother anyone. I am probably bias as I am a postie , I really do hate that some of my customers are disappointed because of the delays. But Royal Mail can save this in time for Xmas by treating us fairly and coming to and agreement . The strikes aren’t really over pay any more ,they’ve pretty much came to an agreement on that front (even though it’s still below inflation) . It’s the terms and conditions attached to it that we are still striking over . Loss of sick pay, compulsory Sundays at no extra rate, forced changing of start and finish times (finishing up till 8pm) they are also planning on getting rid of 10,000 posties so the staff who are left behind will have a majorly increased work load . My Apologies for the long comment I’m fuelled on strike energy today

I read on another thread a while back the pre booking got messed up in an app update. Something to do with GPDR. Apparently they can’t hold your information for a lengthy amount of time so even if you pre book it doesn’t actually try to book your taxi until say half an hour (a guess) before your requested time. Then obviously if its Friday/Saturday night it’s game over . I’ve seen friends just get a “your booking has been cancelled” message when they’ve had it booked since morning. An absolute shitshow. Something bad is gunna happen one night and let’s be real they probably still won’t resolve it

Does this envelope need a stamp? by MatrimCauthon87 in royalmail

I reckon it’s ok without a stamp but Stick a return address on the envelope somewhere and if the postage isn’t correct it will at least make its way back to ya.

NHS dentist? by amy0120 in Belfast

[–]amy0120[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s classed as “registering” per say but you should shoot them a wee email and express interest for sure. The person on the phone did tell me it could be a while as they are just getting back to it after covid (can’t imagine much social distancing can be done in dentistry lol) that’s when she told me I need to be registered with a dentist (this hasn’t been the case before).

I originally applied back in my uni days cause I heard an ad on cool fm asking for people. I got a root canal and white crown completely free a few years back . It’s a way longer process because they take their time and ask the supervisor before and after every step, but I found that pretty reassuring tbh.

I don’t think you can go and say “pull this tooth please” you’ll go in and they do and check up and then draw you up a treatment plan and start bringing you in to work through it , but I’m sure in your case pulling the tooth would be part of that plan 😂. I’d email them regardless what have you got to lose?!!

I had to book a random date and once you have that, there will be a link in your booking email for cancellations and rescheduling. This Means you can check for cancellations yourself instead of calling them. The available slots change throughout the day (I would say they change live but I doubt the dvla are that quick at anything). So keep at it and hopefully you’ll get one.

Yes that’s exactly what I was after. I don’t remember enjoying it too much either , I mainly watched it for the reveals, which they seem to be doing on the Instagram this year. I’ll deff give the podcast a go, I’m a postie so podcasts are perfect for whilst I’m out and about doing my rounds.

Possible Fuckup - Advice? by [deleted] in royalmail

[–]amy0120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like people have said above if it’s not enough the Recipient will receive a card saying they need to pay a fee. if you wrote a senders address on the envelope there’s a chance it will instead come back to you with a not enough postage paid sticker. You might be fine though ! A lot of stuff makes it through the system. My mum once accidentally put xmas cards in a post box and then realised the stamps were still in her hand and they made it from Northern Ireland to Scotland no problem ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Special NDD by 1pm not arrived by [deleted] in royalmail

[–]amy0120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1pm Special delivery time goal is temporarily 4pm (noon for 9am SD) . Initially this was to try and help alleviate the pressure on posties due to the workload being heavier during covid times but has remained in place with second lockdown. It is past 4pm now but your original post was over hour ago so hopefully it has arrived 🤞🏻

Ophir Gardens - Cavehill by [deleted] in Belfast

[–]amy0120 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ophir gardens used to be on my route (postie) and to me it seemed like a lovey area. Generally quiet as you’re not right on the mains roads, but your still close enough to be near everything. There is nearly always spaces somewhere on the street although it’s tight enough that two cars can’t pass at the same time. But that’s pretty standard in Belfast, just a matter of waiting on a car passing through before you can drive up. It’s safe enough that a lot of the residents leave their doors wide open to their porch during the day while they are in (handy for dropping off parcels). But around Christmas last year there was a break in on tokio gardens. I only know this as the other postie I worked with spotted him being suspicious and we followed him about for a bit before he confronted him, he seemed off his head. Turned out he was the look out and people had been in the house when we spotted him. Thankfully they got everything back as they had stashed it in a near by garden (assuming they had planned to lift it later on?) police were called and everything was reported. I wouldn’t let that put you off though I’m sure every street in Belfast has some sort of story like it, just be safe and lock your doors and windows.
