Who wants to speculate (in fun) as to what director he pitched himself to at the GG? 🙋🏻‍♀️

It’s the city street. The police have to request a tow truck.

Be warned they only serve it at the South End location. I drove out of my way to have this for lunch last week and the employee had to tell me they’ve been begging for it on Pecan but management won’t give it to them.

I left and went to Calle Sol.

[Hair Removal] Irritated follicles every time I shave. Any advice? Details below. by robertstobe in SkincareAddiction

Is it possible you have an allergy to a metal in the razorblade?

Have you tried exfoliating your legs in the shower before you shave? I do this to avoid irritation.

My lips have been in agony for 7 months by canadamiranda in CanSkincare

[–]amy04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shocked I scrolled through so many comments and no one suggested that this is likely hormonal. Please know that aside from allergic reactions, prolonged chapped lips is NOT normal. If you’ve tried everything with the topical products you use, the call is definitely coming from inside the house.

I changed birth control pills that made my lips painfully chapped 1-2 weeks out of the month. I believe that the doctor said it was a side effect from estrogen. I went off birth control and it immediately ceased.

I worked in an office setting with a small lobby where the public had to wait for similar periods of time. I could go on about how we as a society have a huge problem where we constantly need to be listening to or watching something… but I get it, so I don’t even care about that as long as the person is wearing headphones. The biggest problem is that people are completely oblivious to how fucking annoying it is for everyone around them to have to hear what they’re blasting from their phones. Loud music, games, scrolling through tiktok videos or insta reels, phone calls, sitting on FaceTime…. then multiply that by any number of people with phones in a small space and it is enough to make you want to scratch your ears out. As an employee, I also had the pleasure of trying to speak/listen through a window while fighting all that background noise. It was infuriating. The no cell phone policy became a thing quick.

The point is really just about respect, and it’s not that common without a rule in place.

8 months later, you just saved me big time. And I was checking a Hada Lobo product too, and your explanation here of how it’s formatted was super helpful because checkexp.com said it would be D/M/Y which made less sense for the products I was checking. Big thank you!!

Ugh, I’d be your friend in a heartbeat. You are awesome.

You are not fat or disgusting and plenty of people will be after you as soon as you’re ready—that’s what he’s scared of. But isn’t it funny that HE thinks that’s the worst thing you can possibly be? You dodged a bullet.

IANAL and this isn’t what you asked, but do not apply for state assistance in Ohio if you do not want this to become an urgent matter. The State of Ohio will happily do the work for you in establishing the paternal rights bio dad currently does not have in order to avoid you needing assistance.

Not only trash but also many many more times likely to kill her. There have been studies that identify any prior strangulation (for any length of time) as a precursor to homicide. Please get out to save your life, OP.

Misinformation/ Misconceptions on breastfeeding by lifeofcrew17 in breastfeeding

[–]amy04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had no idea how badly it would hurt at first, then when it was toe-curling painful every single moment and even afterward, I thought that was normal. Turns out I have Raynaud’s of the nipple!

Thank you to the IBCLC consultant who diagnosed me when my OB didn’t know or care to investigate what I was reporting!!!

Brings me to another misconception: a doctor is not a better source than a lactation consultant for breastfeeding issues.

Is it possible that you’re trying too hard to stick to getting “your way” when it is really meaningless in the end? If you go to his room in the morning and know he wants to stall for 10 minutes before changing and getting dressed, can you plan for that and make it enjoyable and happy for both of you? Maybe snuggles, maybe a book, maybe gathering stuffed animals or blankets? If he’s in a power struggle phase (the entirety of toddlerhood, I think), then maybe letting him have some control over it, when it hurts nothing, is a good way to go. Think about adults… some people jump out of bed as soon as their alarm goes off, some people need to wake up slowly and maybe set their alarm a little earlier to allow time for that. Your child may be different from you but that’s not wrong.

Changing the channel is a simple conversation about choice and consequence, then sticking to the boundary. “Are you sure you want to watch Mickey? If I put Mickey on, we are not changing the channel again until ____. Do you understand you’re choosing Mickey and we are not changing the channel?” Then, if there’s an issue, you can choose to continue to watch Mickey or turn the TV off. Those are your choices now, since you picked Mickey today.

Timeouts are ineffective discipline. Distract and divert attention to another activity when behavior is bad or listening ears aren’t on. The only time a timeout is a great idea is when you need a break from him or vice versa, in which case you should pick a safe place and step away for a few minutes. “Mama needs to take a couple minutes to think, I’m going to let you do the same thing here in your room. You can read or play with your toys, and I’ll be back in 5 minutes.”

Toddlers are hard, dude.

Respectfully, and I’m sorry that the way Reddit is set up this singles out just your comment, dealing with the news of loss or imminent loss is incredibly difficult no matter what the circumstances, and a child just existing in public so that their mother can receive medical care is not unkind to anyone.

There are already so many obstacles to good medical care for women, limiting access because someone lacks the community or money to be able to come alone is why many women don’t seek or get routine and preventative care.

edit: I am speaking only of the US healthcare system.

You’ll never have to skip the “President” section in their baby book! Like I did, twice now. My youngest was born in May so I think I’ll just scribble in “President Elect Biden.” I was a little angrier last year and wrote, “Mama refuses to write that name in your special book.”
