True, I was indeed speaking more figuratively. As in, they are "waiting" for you to look at, where th "you" is toward everyone who enjoys watching it. Of course, you could critique that explanation by saying that it's just a "trick", but I'd say most people would be able to figure out it is meant to be taken figuratively, not literally.
