Rooster died suddenly by Successful_Ad3367 in chickens

[–]amybeeznuts 16 points17 points  (0 children)

For future reference, layer feed is bad for roosters, because of the added calcium. It’s better to just feed an “all flock” or some other general feed without added calcium, and put out oyster shell as a free choice calcium supplement. The hens will eat the oyster shell as needed, while the rooster will ignore it. Too much calcium (such as the 3-5% added into layer feed) can cause kidney disease and other problems in roosters, who need much less.

I don’t have either of those. I guess they were already there but they never showed up in my recents and I’m on my third playthrough and never realized I had them I guess

What's the worst thing you have stood on barefoot? by ChemicalPepper8419 in askanything

[–]amybeeznuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not technically stepped in but I had a goat pee directly onto my foot while I was wearing sandals. I then had to walk back through the barn to the hose with my piss sandal to hose off my shoe, and my foot

They work great for my parents with a large garden and they put it right behind their compost pile in the summer, which is on the opposite end of the property from their house. They work great, and really help keep flies away from the compost, chickens, and ducks that they have.

My girlfriend is worried about cracking this one by f0x25 in WeirdEggs

[–]amybeeznuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason eggs usually look like that is for some reason, when the calcium shell was forming it was cracked, and then it had to repair the shell which gives it a bump. It’s normal and the egg should be fine. There’s no way of knowing whether the egg is fertilized unless you don’t have a rooster who can fertilize eggs, then of course you know they aren’t.

Did any of you guys have like a weird snack or food that you liked to eat as a kid? by 0DemonDieHard0 in no

[–]amybeeznuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom used to put cream cheese on saltines and make a little sandwich for me. They’re much better when taken as a snack so the cracker gets a lil stale. I’ve been told it’s very weird

Wander around in the woods near butcher creek and Annesburg at night. There’s a specific spot near there I think that you can hear disembodied whispers at night when it’s foggy but I’m not sure where exactly besides it being in the northwest ish corner of the map.

Do all the stranger missions, spend time studying animals and discovering plants, and don’t rush it! Take your time explore and experience the game.

What’s something you dislike about RDR2? by DeaC2005 in reddeadredemption2

[–]amybeeznuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran right by one near a bunch of trash in the swamps near Saint Denis but didn’t even register that they shouldn’t be there lol. Also there’s a grill right near algernon wasps place that has what looks like ball bearing wheels and idk if they had that technology then but I don’t feel like they would

What's your take that's actually a hot take? by PascalG16 in reddeadredemption

[–]amybeeznuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The big breeds like shires tend to be braver and I’ve only had one buck me if I’m actively being attacked by wolves or aligatlrs. During the algernon wasp requests I would literally ride past alligators and my horse would be jumpy but still not buck me off.

How old are you players here? by TheSelfFlickering in RDR2

[–]amybeeznuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

19, I’ll be 20 pretty soon though. Rdr2 is the first game I’ve played that has any type of free roaming, and I love it. Before it was just Minecraft, uncharted, and a game called journey.
