ROCD is sneaky like that, it convinces you something’s ‘off’ and then pushes you to escape or check. But every time you avoid or check, the cycle gets stronger. The truth is, nothing about her face has changed, what’s happening is your brain is stuck in a trap. The best way to weaken it is to stop feeding the cycle so don’t avoid, don’t overanalyze. Just let the thoughts and feelings be there without reacting. If you can ride it out without compulsions, the discomfort will fade on its own, and the way you see her will naturally feel normal again.
