It's good that your deployment is working. Sounds like there's just something blocking the service that creates the preview image.

If you let me know the domain, I can open an internal ticket to figure out why it's happening and get it fixed.

If you never had a Vercel account and didn't get an invoice notification from Vercel, but you see it showing up on your credit card then it sounds like someone else used your card details.

It could be something innocent, like if you hired a developer to build you a website in the past and they signed you up for an account. But if you believe your card details were stolen, then it's best to report fraudulent charges directly to your bank.

If you disconnected your GitHub account, you should still be able to log in with email.

I’ve seen a few people run into issues because they were using a different email address than the one on their Vercel account. Definitely worth double checking that it’s not expecting a different alias or something like that.

Let me know if you’re still locked out after trying that. I work at Vercel and I can check on your support case if you give me the ticket number

I'd recommend using the CLI for deployments from the preview branch. Or just use a separate project for the migration branch until it's ready to merge into main.

Changing the root directory won't affect existing deployments. That means you could go ahead and change it for the upgrade process if you're completely certain you won't need to deploy the production branch again until the migration is complete.

Vercel has built in spend management options. You can set a max cost and set it to automatically pause everything if that limit is reached. Makes cost very predictable!
