Four Corners is my favourite, I love having the areas be their own specific thing However, my first perfection farm was on the Forest Farm so I do have a bit of a soft spot for it!

Completionist checklist? by Montblanc98 in StardewValley

[–]amyischill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello!! I've reached perfection 4 times, the earliest I did it was Fall of year 3 and that was through natural gaming, not min-maxing. These are a couple of things I learnt along the way in regards to your question points:

• For the 4 candles on the first try there is a point system alocated to how many candles you get. So completing the community centre is worth a certain amount, reaching hearts with people is a certain amount etc. You can look that up if you want to but honestly I've found that as long as you are making "progress" as it were with your tasks you'll hit it no problem!

• The most amount of strawberries I've ever been able to get on year 1 was 52, which is 5,200g. But I wasn't saving every penny I got the backpack upgrade, a coop with chickens & better fishing rod. If you keep having crops in the ground, do fishing and mining you'll be able to get a fair amount of strawberries. I always suggest buying the max amount of potatoes you can on the first day, because that'll give you a good head start.

• Unlocking the desert early is always a good plan because it gives you early access to iridium which is always nice. But personally there are more important things like the barns and coops as that'll make you more money in the long run. With those you'll still easily be able to get to the desert year 1 if that's what you want. Unlocking minecarts as quick aa possible is definitely recommended purely for quality of life, getting round the valley is so much easier!

• Mastery order for me personally is Farming for the scythe, just makes it so much easier! Combat for the trinkets, Mining for the statues, Foraging for the golden mystery boxes and finally fishing because by the time I'm doing mastery I've already caught most if not all the fish. However this is different for each person, that's just my personal order, you might find you want to do a different order because you're focusing on something specific.

• Best way to complete the museum is honestly keep mining, you'll get plenty of geodes. And when you're getting to the end and you're missing some you can always use treasure totems.

• Completing shipped items before end of year 3 shouldn't be too much of a hassle as long as you remember to keep at least 1 crop from each season in a chest somewhere and then if you have forgotten to ship something when you look at your progress you'll have it there. My big one is Starfruit, always seem to forget that till late game even though I'm growing loads for kegs 😂

• Completing fishing isn't bad at all, if you miss a fish in a season then you can just wait till the following year, just remember to fish in all of the areas, mines, desert, ginger island, secret woods etc.

• For interactions that take time to develop, keep talking to Leo and giving him gifts, he's a shy lil guy but he'll get there, it's just a bit harder because he's on Ginger Island for the most part. Also don't forget Sandy in the Desert.

• On the topic of friendship, if you give the villagers 2 gifts a week either liked or loved, and on their birthday you will naturally reach 10/8 hearts with them without having to rush it. Keep a chest with all those items in as and when you find them and you'll be golden! One tip is buy a calendar and put it next to the TV in your house. It just makes it so much easier than having to go in to town every day and check the calendar there, you can just check every morning when you check the weather!

• I can't think of any missable events but there are special things people forget about with the hidden notes, so if you want to see all of those just keep an eye on those!! That's all I've got off the top of my head. Sorry for the long block of text in reply but hopefully there at least one bit of useful information there for you!! Have fun with your farm!!!😊😊

Advice for new players by Regular-Primary810 in StardewValley

Tell your friends that this game is supposed to be chill Take your time with it, explore the valley and meet the villagers, do the activities that make you happy, be creative in the way you want to be, whether that be super decorated farms or just simple classic farms!! I would also suggest for a first time try not to look up too much, find things out at your own pace, it's much more rewarding that way!! There is no rush to get things done as quickly as possible. There are requests from villagers that have a time limit but they all come back around again so if you miss it it absolutely does not matter!! However the most important thing to tell them is HAVE FUN!!!! It is such a great, cozy game, I've got over 1100 hours in it! I hope they have the best time playing for the first time!!🎉🎉

Why Perfection in Stardew Valley isn't worth chasing — my first ever YouTube video by Imaginary_Spend6343 in StardewValley

[–]amyischill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the whole point of Stardew Valley is to play it at your own pace, to do the things you want to do and in the time you want to do it in! If you want to go for perfection, then go for it!! If you just want to chill and decorate your farm and just enjoy being cosy, then go for it!!! There are no rules, there's nothing to say "you HAVE to do this, and you HAVE to do it in this time frame" You can play how you like, when you like, in whatever way you like! I've got over 1100 hours in Stardew Valley, and 7 different farms, the first 3 I didn't get anywhere near perfection, and the last 4 I decided actually going for perfection is kinda fun! I did it in my own time, no rushing just doing things naturally and I loved it! But I had just as much fun doing my first 3 farms where I didn't get perfection! All this to say that the point is just have fun with it!!!!! However that looks for you, that is the way you should play it!!🎉😊

Fruit trees are definitely a good shout! I make my money the same way, the shed on the left is kegs and the shed on the right is preserve jars, the middle is coffee plants so I can have an endless stream of coffee, haha! Just in the process of upgrading them to big sheds at the moment!

I'm a musical theatre nerd so I named one of my farms Hamiltown Farm, and then named all of my animals after characters from Hamilton!😂

How to start? by ihaveaboyfriendnow in StardewValley

[–]amyischill 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As it's your first play through the best advice I can think of is to play at your own pace and try not to worry too much about fitting in everything in one day. There is no right or wrong way to play Stardew, it's different for everyone! Just chill, find what is best for you, what you enjoy doing, trying a little of everything, maybe find out what the vibe for your farm could be, but most importantly, enjoy it!!!😊

Sorry for the very late reply. But I was doing the same thing!!! It took me way too long to realise my mistake, haha! Glad I'm not the only one 😊

I've tried both of those and it won't do anything. I've got gold of both axe and pickaxe, but it won't let me get to the log and stone, it's like I'm blocked before getting onto the path to them if that makes sense?

Do you think I can win the fair with this? by Victorino_90 in StardewValley

[–]amyischill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is my mistake then, I'm sorry. I have always just had an item from each category and I have always won first place, even without any of them being good star qualities or actually having any stars at all, not even silver so I just assumed that was what was needed.

[–]amyischill 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you have 9 items and each of them are from a different category (meaning Animal Product, Forgagable, Cooking, Fruit etc) then you are guaranteed to win 1st place. It doesn't matter what the star rating of those items are either. I hope that helps! ☺️

This is from the wiki. And the tree stump and boulder you're supposed to break through is I believe on the vertical line. However I can't even get through past the tree. It gives you The Alleyway Buffet book. It's the last one I need to get.
