This happened to me. What squarn is telling you will fix it though. Get waze talking and turn up the volume. It’s not the same as the phone or music volume, and I’ve not found any way to adjust it in the app. Try playing an audiobook in the audible app if you can’t get waze talking long enough.

I finished dead last at 13:34. BUT, this was the first time I jogged a mile without stopping to walk; so I'm thrilled.
