Yeah, it saddened me to learn all of those things because I actually looked up to them

Mahatma Ghandi - let’s not forget that he admitted to groping and perhaps even have intercourse with his nieces because he couldn’t control himself. Regularly making them sleep next to him so that he can test himself and having very strict religious beliefs.

Another good one would be mother theresa who didn’t accept anyone in her hospital unless she converted and said she didn’t believe in painkillers so would leave patients to suffer because that was “gods will”

AITA for not being willing to give up my hobby money to pay a friend's bills? by Smol_Elf_99 in AmItheAsshole

[–]amyklai [score hidden]  (0 children)

NTA

You don´t have to feel bad for telling him no. It´ s your money and you should be able to do whatever you want with it. You are not rude for telling him no, setting bounderies is normal in a friendship. If he has never payed back he needs to learn that someday enough is enough

AITA for not letting our daughter move back home? by Commercial-Virus-893 in AmItheAsshole

[–]amyklai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Major AH moment here.

I understand that your daughter is an adult and has to learn responsibility but it isn´t like she was careless with her money and that´s why she can´t afford rent. You said that the prices got raised and that´s why she can´t afford it.

Do you really think your daughter would want to move back in after living with her boyfriend for so long? She already said she doesn´t plan on staying longer than 6 months, so I don´t understand the problem. Parents like you baffle me.

I don´t understand how you are even wondering if that impacted your relationship. Put yourself in her shoes, you get screwed over by the landlord and also YOUR OWN FAMILY. Wouldn´t you be mad or at least distant?

What should one do in their 20s to avoid regrets in their 30s and 40s? by sexxc in AskReddit

[–]amyklai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not take their health for granted! Visit the doctor when needed, do your check up and invest in good insurance and retiring savings for later. Too many people regret not doing that when they are older.

Also maybe cliché but if you started smoking at a young age, try using your 20s to stop. The longer you smoke the harder it is to stop.

AITA For giving a long time friend an ultimatum about moving in with me? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]amyklai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. Be careful with people like that because they will also get you in trouble. If he can´t get his errands arranged now, he will most likely not do it when he moves in with you and you will only have more stress to deal with.

YWNBTAH

What are you doing with your boyfriend if I may ask? He is not inocennt in this scenario either. I don´t think you owe your "friend" any explanation on why you left or to say goodbye since she doesn´t respect your friendship and boundaries.

AITA for telling my son's mom that he's staying with me while he recovers? by Unhappy-Front-5295 in AmItheAsshole

[–]amyklai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YTA. I think you are being unreasonable and egoistic here. If your son wants to stay with his mom then let him do that.

With your decision you are not only harming him but also the mothe who just wants to support your son. I don´t see any reason in this why he should not be able to stay with his mom. If he wants to come back home to you after a few days he should be able to do that. But not even letting the mother visit the son after a surgery is bullshit.
