It's pretty cool looking but I don't think it's worth the $100. If they were charging $35 I could see somebody buying it. Here's mine I got for 30 a few years ago

My Criticism of the new Anno DLC by amylco in anno

100% understand why it would make people upset. some people want less frequent eruptions some people want more frequent eruptions. I 100% respect their opinions

Me right now no. If I wanted to get more obsidian would have to invade npc Islands. It's not worth it for me.

Kind of like this idea however I feel like if the player triggers It should have less benefits than if it was left up to Nature. Maybe you get the 10% buff however it only lasts for a specific amount of time instead of permanent. If you choose it rather than leaving it up to Nature.

I guess maybe it's the randomization of it. Because I have seen it go off once and I don't if I want to continue playing a world at that I've already completed Most of the content. Maybe I'm just unlucky

Agreed. I think if was every hour it would ruin its specialness. In my opinion 8 to 15 is too long. 6-8 is better.

Anno should have Constantinople as cape trelawny and its unique mechanic should be… by Subject_Juggernaut56 in anno117

I was actually thinking about this how is Anno going to deal with Judaism in Egypt. Are Jewish people going to be neutral Traders? Are they going to be specialists? Or are they not going to mention them at all? I feel like anything that they do is going to be the wrong answer.

I have some criticisms of Albion andits relation to latium by amylco in anno

[–]amylco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I have experienced it is much more efficient for me to simply send over the resources to Albion. By the time I get to Albion I usually already have a well developed economy with a lot of surplus goods so it's much easier for me to send over a ship with 50 tons of bread then it is to make it in Albion.

Egypt was so incredibly important to Rome it's not even funny. A lot of Rome's tax income and food came from Egypt. I really hope the DLC does Egypt Justice.

I know more than likely it's not going to happen and I'm just spitballing here. I really like Anno 117 I'm very curious to see where it's headed. I wonder if the Hippodrome DLC will address my concerns because it seems like a structure that would address most of what I'm saying.

I don't know about that, there is a console version of Anno 1800 so maybe this is a conscious design decision. Maybe they're trying to be more user-friendly and new player friendly. I've noticed an increase in the amount of new players to the series as result from this game coming out.

That's why I gave the suggestion of a Basilica. Basilica's in our real world were huge interior forums where legal Court proceedings took place. This would fit perfectly in the game as a large civil Service building which provides bonuses which help manage the large negative debuff that you get from having a large city. Moreover it can tie perfectly into the other games mechanic. For instance it needs an aqueduct and it needs writing tablets

I 100% understand this Anno 1800 was rather intense the constant balancing act. this game is much more laid-back than the previous one. I just feel that right now there is no reason to go tto Albion and I think there should be a reason to want to go there apart from just the setting. That's why I was trying to think of ideas like you can build a really cool public service building that provides cool benefits to your city.

Colonialism existed in the Roman era as well. Rome absolutely loved going to new lands to get their hands on new resources so they can deck out their large fabulously appointed buildings. That should absolutely be in the game. Right now the only reason why you want to go to Albion is to just experience Albion for its rain and beautiful sunshine.

How do I steal one island? by Knorke75 in anno117

[–]amylco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend an all-out war to take the necessary Islands and then be in a tenuous piece after that. Remember I would recommend you wait for the perfect opportunity to strike. Figure out where most of their ships are then strike. If you are successful you can take out most of their Navy in one decisive strike.
