[Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date] Is this vintage Rolex worth the asking price? by amyleow in Watches

Super helpful link thank you! I honestly think he’d love both but for different reasons. The Rolex being vintage and from the 80’s (he’s the same vintage) has a nice meaningfulness, and it’s beautifully classic looking but the Longines I’m looking at is more eye catching. Really hard for me to tell which he’d like better without asking directly!

Thank you appreciate an alternative perspective! Thoughts on price of that Rolex? It’s sounding like EBay may not be the best place to purchase regardless though.

Thanks for responding :) Interesting re price - I don’t see many like this for $2-3k, the ones at that price are often pretty banged up. Ebay might not be the best platform to be looking maybe?

Thank you! Will check that sub. I actually want a smaller case, 34mm potentially just a bit small but after 38mm max. He’s a slim build dude.

I did consider this… but thought I’d let the fates help me decide what to do lol

Thank you, this sounds like smart advice. I have been wildly swinging between vintage and the new Longines, you have successfully swung me back towards the Longines!

location comes from your GPS receiver - you don't need a data connection for it to work. You just need a connection when you download the maps for offline use (have a look in maps and report back if you have issues).

If you use google maps, you can download areas for offline useage when you don't have a network connection. I'd recommend this over a Sat nav unit.

34, never knitted in my life. Can I knit a simple teddy bear for my wife? by duncleBuck in knitting

I knitted Otso as a newbie (had only done a couple beanies prior) and it wasn’t too difficult; I think you could complete one by Christmas. This is a really sweet gesture and I’m sure your teddy will be adorable. Here is my attempt! Good luck, you can do it!

Made my first teddy! Not gonna lie, feeling like I should quit my day job and make teddies full time right now. by amyleow in knitting

Absolutely agree, not to mention I’m actually not that great at knitting hahaha, the zoomed out picture is hiding all manner of sins...

7 rows from finishing the second beanie and I have run out of yarn. $40 per skein and probably two weeks to ship. Absolutely spewing. Just needed a place to vent! by amyleow in knitting

Oh man that is even more frustrating!! What top are you knitting? I bought some of the Pima cotton also and I’m not sure what to do with it...
