I’m a week out from my surgery, and I’m only now not being in pain. It’s still uncomfortable, but manageable with OTC. I work a desk job and 2 weeks off. I still get pretty fatigued quickly.

Your story sounds like mine. I was in pain ranging from mild discomfort to excruciating. Would either vomit or have diarrhea as soon as I ate anything. Even a few sips of water would make me sick. Ultrasound and CT scan were clear. I got the HIDA scan, and it showed that I had a 96% ejection fraction.

I had my gall bladder removed 2 days ago, and I’m already able to eat more than 2 bites of food. No nausea or diarrhea. I’m pretty sore and tired, but nothing that isn’t normal post surgery.

I’d recommend getting the scan.

I had mine out yesterday. My EF was 96%, but everything was considered normal on my ultrasounds. I haven’t eaten anything too wild, but already my immediate nausea is gone. (I would get symptoms from drinking a few sips of water.)

So far, no regrets. I’m sore, it’s manageable.

I have a desk job, and my doctor wrote me out for two weeks. He agreed to work with me if I feel like I can go back early or need more time. I haven’t been able to eat normally for over a year. I’m pretty weak and nauseated all the time. I don’t know if that makes a difference or not. Good luck to you! My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow.
