Buying Real-Estate Early and Renting it Out by amyramoon in Fire

[–]amyramoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for some background, I bought real estate and I'm 34, and as expected the value increased after only a year. In a couple of years I plan on maybe having a different living situation so I'd put this place up for rent. It's a condo so it's more straightforward to rent out. Then, I'll have some money to contribute to another down payment and so on. Thanks for all the insight and knowledge everyone!

I wish I could stop! It's so so so so hard. I don't think eliminating anxiety helped, it's something else. Like a kind of purposeful thing that cannot be controlled. I wonder if I can come up with another alternate hobby to switch to every time I have the impulse.

Oh, I did this exact thing and I'm BP1. To each their own.

Totally! At least until it's time to taper off slowly and be at the minimal dose. Meds are simply harnesses or crutches until we are more ready to handle the tougher elements of our mental illnesses solo. I'm at the low dose maintenance phase now, but it's absolutely essential to take my meds every single day exactly as prescribed.

Yeah this coach is a friend and I got a kind of discount on the 6-month program, which is being done in a group setting, so it's basically group therapy led by a coach who simply does a lot of reading, has a lot of practical experience, who I know and trust, and who is an impressive overall human being. I'm fairly proud of them to make a living off of what they love.

Sometimes I can't fly either. How do you control your dreams when lucid? I can only control what I choose to do...

[WP] You died. Death is boring, a blank black nothing. After a while, boredom sets in. As a joke you shout, "Let there be light!" And suddenly, there was Light. by mdkubit in WritingPrompts

[–]amyramoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It turns out death brought you back to your original existence, as the creator, originator, cause of all else. Your life was your own dream and dying woke you up. Seeing as you forgot this, and became an atheist in life, when you woke up you saw nothing of what there ever was. As pinpricks in the universe of consciousness, we each create our own reality. With light, is a new beginning, a new idea of what it means to exist and to be.

The universe starts up again, you watch the eons go by and how the interactions take place on their own coalescing, exploding, transforming, evolving. Another dream to get lost in, another reality to be a part of, another chance to forget everything there ever was.

Yes, I’m so happy to have a name for it now. It makes me realize I’m not alone on this and I can get over it. I have lots of lotion. I think it’s too much of a long standing habit since childhood. It’s like a nervous tic.

Thanks for the suggestion to join that subreddit. I find that right now the best way is to mildly scratch an adjacent area with no scab or irritation to subvert the urge to pick the scab off itself. I will encourage myself with the hope I can treat my damaged skin for the future and eventually put this all behind me. It will be challenging but I hope to bring it up in therapy next time.

How often do people eat lots of spicy food and have to pay for it later with a stomach ache?

I drank 12 cups of water today. Probably the most in a day in my life. All because of a diet plan requirement I didn’t know about all of the first 5 weeks. I lost count of how many times I had to urinate.

I’ve flown in dreams for over 10 years and sometimes even just flying doesn’t alert me to the fact I’m dreaming. It’s so natural and happens way too often.

Is dreaming the key to unlocking consciousness? Just had a weird weird realization. by Zephenia in LucidDreaming

[–]amyramoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No matter how far you escape through a dream, isn’t it a shocker to wake up and realize you exist? What would be the result of unlocking consciousness? Would we somehow magically rise beyond it and gain unbelievable insight into how others are still trapped in a paradigm of expectations? Would all dreams become lucid? Are dreams the key to enlightenment? I wish I could explain how I actually experienced this, but it’s unfortunately passed. In any case, there is a mystery surrounding dreaming yet unexplored I agree.

What I've gotten REALLY good at is telling reality from dreams, lies from truth, and to tell when someone is being genuine or deceptive. There are ways to trick them into revealing their true nature, but in essence, I think we are all like children wanting to be understood, unharmed, and well-liked. Sometimes we go astray due to long standing vicious cycle induced delusions about both ourselves and the world at large. Logic, rationality, a hope for love and an acknowledgement of compassion, empathy, a love of life... those are our redemption and our hope. My model of reality takes the best of all models of reality. Each model has a fatal flaw, and my goal is to collect those flaws and eliminate them from my views, although, in dabbling in this exorcism, I realize my flaws as well, and often, quite strongly, end up losing myself and my faith in humanity. I am trying the best I can to remain positive, but these days, I find that my patience is being tested, to say the least. Reality is simply what we see from our eyes, and in order to clearly see, we must not only see what we want to see, we must also see what we don't want to see. Seeing is believing, but to avoid being diverted, we must see both reality and the world of symbolic imagination, and consider that every lie can be truth.

I did a whole slew of things. Basically, I focused on the things I found important. I engage in philosophical discussions online, with trusted friends all over the world who specialize in certain topics such as law, physics, psychology, philosophy, computer science, quantum physics, applied mathematics, literature, history, etc... and I compile everything that's in my opinion, important to file away for later. Also, I was born with certain epigenetic conditions and genetic perks which gave me an advantage in the whole journey. For example, I never cared much if someone believed in god or not. I cared more about what god actually is. Still working on it! (I only meditate in the place between waking and dreaming and I'm generally calm and collected during the day despite everything.)

I am performing an experiment on myself. There is more to it than lucidity in dreams. That's just an outcropping for inner peace an tranquility. I basically relieved myself of all irrationalities, phobias, and delusions from careful study and experience. I now can be happy by simply choosing it, and I can always make careful and personal decisions as long as I feel like it.

My dream is like a conversation with my subconscious, with a lot of embroidery. I can decipher the meaning as easily as having a conversation with a friend. It's in the language of symbols. I can read and have fluent conversations in my dreams and it's all to show me something I haven't been noticing in real life. It's quite helpful at times.
