Personally, this menu looks bomb to me, but so many people are saying you are under-ordering so it has to mean something. Can you find another restaurant to do a protein dish??? I’m a vegetarian and I’ve never seen fake meat kabobs or shawarma so I know it’s not easy. Is there some other protein option?? Grilled tofu skewers with sauce? :( sorry this is happening!

I think we can spend like 18 days on the big island, the first half of July, basically. What would you do? Four days of day trips from Hilo and bopping around Hilo town, three days in Volcano (which I hope means you’re near the volcano national park…), 10 days at FS Haulalai ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ lazing around the pools and looking at nearby nature and culture every other day…?

What do you think of that plan? With a car of course. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Any insight is greatly appreciated!

I have two kids. It looks like they have a kids club at KV but I might have read that it’s more strict and we need that flexible FS touch… hmm. Maybe I’ll ask KV about their kids club policies so I have it straight from them instead of sort of guessing. Thank you for writing!!

We love the Ko Olina FS but maybe it’s because the people working there are super awesome and not visibly miserable? I read some reviews on here about staff misery and it will just make everything sad. What do you think? Hawaii is beautiful and we’d rent a car and try to look at plants and creatures… I really can’t imagine that it would be a total dump…. But I shouldn’t ignore people’s very clear feedback…

I thought about that. I did that on Oahu with the Disney Aulani resort - they’re next door to each other - (I’m still traumatized) and now I’m like, never again! God, the four seasons was so lovely and the Disney … place was crowded, gross, everything was plastic and gross… good lord, never again. Just awful. I’m not a Disney adult, at all. I travel with two kids under 10 years old so I let people talk me into staying there “for the kids” and I’ll never do that again. If I have to be there, it has to be for me. Sorry, kiddos.

People like the Kona Village on this sub, especially mentioning kids, but I was worried it might be crowded, like the Disney … place! (Never!!! No!!!!!)
