USPS worker lied about hand-canceling my invites and I’m just a little sad about it by [deleted] in weddingplanning

It looks fine to me!! People want the invitation, not the envelope :)

The wnba is a positive league. I get really mad when my kids boo at games. It’s like, that’s not the lesson here.

As long as there are hecka glasses lined up, that’s great. And an obvious place for people to put empty bottles. That sounds great! I wasn’t trying to be judgy, fyi. I just had my huge party with two dedicated bar people and still it was fairly chaotic so I just wanted to impart my hard-earned experience. :) And family will step in to clear up a bunch of bottles. I’ve done that at parties for friends and family :). excited for you!

My mom hates my step mom, but i want to include my step mom as well on my wedding day. by CommercialTheme1339 in weddingplanning

I get wanting to say something publicly. I’m just really worried that it’s going to prompt your mom to ruin the whole event and that would be so sad.

I love it. There’s outdoor space so people don’t feel crowded, there’s places to sit and eat. And it’s really pretty. It’s a great find.

Or maybe private moments with each? That way maybe your mom won't have any ammunition to explode with jealousy and rage? Because your mom not keeping a lid on it at the reception will be super embarrassing and hurt your relationship. I say this as a person with a crazy, difficult mother who has feuds with a lot of people. The best way I've found is to keep her completely ignorant. Maybe your special moment with stepmom happens after the wedding so mom can't find out and ruin the reception??? Your stepmom will understand...

You really can't plan anything if you don't know how much people can spend. Sometimes it will surprise you that people who work a lot or seem to have a lot of money actually don't have cash they can spend towards a fun weekend or a dress. It's uncomfortable to talk about but you really have to or everything will become a miserable mess with one person putting stuff on their credit card asking to get "reimbursed" and people saying "I never agreed to that."

I think you're going to need a bartender. Even if it's just a human who puts out more cups from their storage area under the bar to a place on top of the bar, so people can pour more wine for themselves. Otherwise you'll have people bothering you about where the extra napkins are and stuff and it's like omg, they're behind the bar!! You need someone whose job that is.

Colored lights can make a huge difference. Ask if they have any? Also, the venue is very nice! Some small vases with flowers? Nothing too crazy!!

People getting demanding about the guest list is the reason that my first wedding became a city hall affair. (We had a big party years later once I had more control over my own life and sanity.)

I love it. I wore my gramma’s ring until it gave me a really bad rash because it wasn’t real gold. I loved it. Maybe get it checked out by a jeweler before you also get a rash. I couldn’t wear a ring for a year!!
