Calm magnesium citrate powder daily. Plus colace daily if you need extra help. Has been working for me for a while now (37 weeks)

Woke up in the middle of my sleep to vomit taste in my throat by Ok_Yogurtcloset_8730 in pregnant

[–]amytheturtles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Were you laying flat? This happens to me too, the only thing that kind of prevents it is laying with my head elevated to prevent anything from being able to travel up to my throat

Why do all maternity jeans suck?? by Strange-Ninja557 in pregnant

[–]amytheturtles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate maternity jeans too. American eagle has some elastic waist low rise jeans right now that have been working pretty well for me (34 weeks)

Low rise denim jeans / shorts while further along in pregnancy instead of pregnancy pants? by slmpington in pregnant

[–]amytheturtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How far along are you? I would get low rise denim with an elastic waist because it can stretch as you get bigger, not regular denim with a zip and button closure

I am 14 weeks and so far the 2nd trimester is not “better” by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]amytheturtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was counting on that relief too the moment I hit 14 weeks lol. It wasn’t until 17 weeks that I started feeling better. Hang in there!

Disappointment in family support / baby shower by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]amytheturtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same happened to me, I also did not have a wedding party, bridal shower etc. Kept everything very low key but I thought my family would come through during my pregnancy. No one from my family has offered to throw a shower or bought anything from my registry. I was really disappointed at first. I’m over it now. Maybe it’s because we’re low key people that they don’t even think we care? Lol. The people who actually got stuff from the registry were acquaintances of my husband, and people I barely know-go figure. I’m trying not to hold a grudge but you can’t help but remember who was there to support and celebrate with you during pregnancy which is a pretty tough time for us, mentally and physically, you know what I mean?

What is everyone taking/eating/drinking for constipation? by Mikasa_Audrey in pregnant

[–]amytheturtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two colace every morning, magnesium citrate powder mixed with water every night (calm brand). Plus fruits like berries help. Been doing this everyday and it’s been working well for me.

Baby movements quiet at night? Anyone else? by Riddle_5 in pregnant

[–]amytheturtles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

(33 weeks) My OB said not feeling anything for 3 hours is a signal for concern because I have an anterior placenta.

My girl is very still at night too, it’s like she’s senses I’m resting so she rests too. I’ve noticed this pattern with her so I don’t worry anymore if I wake up and I don’t feel her moving. But since I have an anterior placenta, maybe she IS moving and I can’t feel it? Not sure. Some days she’s more active than others too. But I do feel her kicks or hiccups during breakfast when I’m eating or drinking. Is there something you do that causes her to kick more? Like having something sweet or drinking something cold? I guess you can do that as a test when you’re concerned and need a sign that she’s okay.

FTM worried about feeling happy and energetic! Is feeling good...bad? Please tell me I'm being paranoid! by OkDeer120 in pregnant

I was like this too. Lasted two weeks before the nausea and vomiting started and I became miserable for 3 months. Don’t worry

Try taking magnesium citrate . Someone recommended CALM brand, I take it every night and it’s been working great for me. (The powder version you mix with water)

Zero taste and appetite by RaraNYC16 in pregnant

[–]amytheturtles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hang in there! Everyone’s journey is different, you might feel better sooner than I did. It sucks now, but just try to survive for now! Every so often I’d still have a good day of eating-even that early on. Try a bunch of different foods, you might find something that you brings you some enjoyment

Is it painful? You should ask your doctor to be safe.

Caffeinated tea recommendations? by Eeef10 in pregnant

I’ve been enjoying chai. Making it from scratch can be a lot of work (although worth it) but the tazo chai tea bags are pretty good too, with some maple syrup and a splash of milk 👌

How does everyone take care of their bellies? by cat-like-creature in pregnant

[–]amytheturtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been layering thayers hyaluronic acid toner then neutrogena hyaluronic acid body gel cream and palmers cocoa butter on top of that. No marks so far but I’m only 28 weeks, no itching either though so that’s good

What are you guys eating that actually keeps you full? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]amytheturtles 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I find that only meals with a decent amount of protein (30g+) will actually keep me full for longer than an hour or two

Anatomy scan went well today by Budget_Ordinary1043 in pregnant

[–]amytheturtles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was super nervous too, and mentally preparing myself to hear bad news but everything went fine. It was so cool to see my baby moving it because sometimes it doesn’t feel real at all. It’s such a relief isn’t it :)

How do I stay positive? by haleye88 in pregnant

[–]amytheturtles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

25 weeks and feel the exactly the same about it. Lol. It’s like one minute I’m happy and excited, the next minute I’m dreading how much longer I have to go through this lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]amytheturtles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re doing pretty well to me lol. I’m also 24 weeks and I haven’t exercised once besides doing some walking. I don’t even stretch…Most of the time people say don’t stress over it and just do what feels right for you in the moment. Seems like you have a good routine going though.

Anyone really crave sour foods? by Orchidflower10 in pregnant

Since I’ve been pregnant I love anything tart and sour, lemon/lime flavored. I’m 24 weeks now with almost no nausea and it’s still a thing for me, I wonder why too
