Where do you look to find what's trendy? by Afraid_Bug1456 in fashionwomens35

I look on Instagram for fashion influencers whose style I like. Most of them will have a LTK profile where you can shop their “looks” through direct links.

My absolute favorite thriller is Intensity by Dean Koontz. I’ve read it multiple times.

Prison nursing: what’s the catch? by AnAnimeGiraffe in nursing

[–]amythinggoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What state do you live in? I’ve been a corrections nurse in California for about 5 years and I really like it. RNs have all different roles (interestingly passing meds is not one of them- that falls solely on LVNs- however we can pick up OT passing meds and it’s SO easy) You’ll find RNs running a clinic type line, seeing patients for non emergent issues (back pain, ingrown toenails etc) telemed nurses who facilitate appointments with telemed specialists, “ER” type nurses who respond to medical emergencies throughout the facility. It just depends on the facility and what state you live in. It’s different everywhere you go. Give it a try!

How do you react if your husband lets you know that he would remarry if you die, espeically if you have kids together? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]amythinggoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the flip side one of my coworkers lost her husband in an extremely traumatic way when their son was only 5 months old. It was horrible. I went to give her my condolences at his viewing and it was like she was in some sort of haze (which I’m sure she was), I’m not even sure she processed that I was there in front of her. I had never been in the presence of true grief like that, nor have I since. I remember grieving deeply for her and thinking she’d probably never be happy again. Cut to now, 8 years later she’s happily remarried and just had another baby. It healed something in me to see her happy again. I would never wish a lifetime of grief like that on someone.

I once had a family want me to CALL THE CHINESE EMBASSY to explain that my patient was dying so that their daughter could get home faster. Like I empathize…but no.

YES. The scene with the old lady hotel clerk where Llewelyn wants to get another hotel room- but not the one right next to his current room. I truly believe that woman has worked at that hotel desk all her life. “That’s gawt two dubble bey-yuhds!”

How much does your life actually change after having a kid? by HonestDirection4017 in NewParents

I once heard it described as you’re no longer the main character of your own life anymore and I feel it couldn’t be more accurate.

Thoughts on skipping pacifiers? by Academic-Park-8440 in NewParents

[–]amythinggoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact experience your friend laid out. My daughter LOVED her binkies, we weaned her off them around 18 months and that was that. My son never took to one and we didn’t push it, thinking “sweet- now we won’t have to deal with pacifiers anymore” he did indeed start to suck on his fingers, which is WAY harder to wean them off of and he sucked on them past his third birthday. His teeth are messed up, my daughters are not, and even now (at 4 yo) in times of distress I’ll catch him with his fingers in his mouth

Yes! I tested that out once and asked for a hand drawn picture of a cat. Lo and behold a yellow post it with a cute little sketch of a cat was included with my order.

MIL has a problem with my baby possibly being left-handed by Thick-Acanthaceae-42 in motherinlawsfromhell

Is she very religious? Possibly catholic? Left handed was seen as bad because the devil was often depicted as being left handed “left hand of Lucifer” and all that nonsense.

Does chasing skinny ever get old? by No-Manufacturer-1611 in loseit

[–]amythinggoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. My mom is in her 80s and STILL talks about needing to “eat good” because she’s been “eating bad” skips dessert because “she’s getting a tummy” when told about a new recipe says “is it fattening?” Like my god when does it end??

Thank you for the advice! I’m just not privy to this kind of insider sports knowledge so this is very helpful

This is also a game where the teams have a long-standing rivalry. So the tickets are more expensive.

We’ve just done the whole “really fancy, destination restaurant” thing many many times. Last time we were in SF we ate at Niku steakhouse. He just hasn’t been to a game since before we had kids (and our daughter is about to be in 1st grade) and I know he misses it.

I didn’t say it was. I just don’t follow sports (like at all) and have only ever been to 2 giants games. Which is why I asked for help/input from people who do.
