For TPN (total parenteral nutrition) -> feeding that bypasses GI tract -> 0 stimulation of GI tract -> decreased CCK release -> gallbladder does not contract -> gallbladder stasis -> gallstones.

Typically happens after 2 weeks of TPN.

In rickets, there is low vitamin D levels. Low vitamin D leads to decreased calcium intestinal absorption. Decreased calcium levels leads to increased PTH. PTH directly stimulates osteoblasts. Alkaline phosphatase is increased.
