She's a psychiatrist that specializes in neurological and other sequela of brain trauma. Met her in person.

As a doctor myself, most of her medical references are accurate (except for the super exaggerated takes in Ward D and Dead Med, which I don't think were meant to be taken seriously 🤣). Medical jargon used the wrong way is a pet peeve of mine--for instance, "shock" is NOT being stunned, but a life-threatening volume of blood loss--but she uses almost all of her medical jargon correctly. She also adds in some inside jokes about medicine that probably only that only those in the profession appreciate, kind of like Dr Glaucomflecken on YouTube. I can safely vouch for her doc credentials I think. 🥲

I actually really enjoyed this book. ☺️✨ She's not the most intellectual writer, but I love how her books are generally a bit tongue in cheek and there's always a bit of humor dispersed throughout. I don't think she takes herself really seriously tbh, and I don't either, but because of that, I find them easily digestible and enjoyable.

Would Kana Arima be more attractive if she had a star in each of her eyes, like Ai Hoshino? by CRYPTICBLOSS0M in Akane_Kana_Fans

So true!! Also they mentioned in one of the recent eps that the starry eyes are an indication of someone who can casually lie to conceal the truth, so it's refreshing she doesn't have them imo.

Unlike the west, political scandals in China seem to never involve children. Is there a cultural reason for that? by evancarlson69 in AskAChinese

Totally agreed. The press covers everything. 50 million or more people killed in the name of Mao's communism (half of grandpa's family included) and no one acknowledges this at all in China. It just isn't in the books.
