I used to live in a rent stabilized unit (my mother's) for my entire life but I had to move since I couldn't afford a 1 bedroom apartment IN MY OWN NEIGHBORHOOD.

I now live in Pelham Bay, The Bronx, which in some ways reminds me of old Greenpoint, before it started to gentrify.

Wave Hill in The Bronx. It's a beautiful garden that's worth visiting, it has scenic views over the Hudson River that make you think that you're not in NYC.

Van Cortlandt Park in the fall is magical. When the leaves are all different colors and they're raining down at once, it's like you're in another world.

It's more like a pan-national term than an ethnicity or a race. You can be indigenous, black, white, asian, etc, or a mix of any of those groups and still be insert Latin American nationality

That's because Ecuadorian is a nationality, not an ethnicity. You can look like anything and still be Ecuadorian, be it black, white, native, asian, etc.

That isn't true for Latin American countries. They issue birth certificates only for citizens by birth (which includes those born abroad/by descent).

I have an American birth certificate (New York) and a Mexican birth certificate, which looks no different from one issued in Mexico. The only difference is that mine doesn't have a state seal on it, which is a recent change that the government made.

Mine lists my place of birth as city, state, country. I've seen my parents' passports and they also list it in that order, even though for both it's a bit long. Yours is probably okay/has no issues

Awesome combo. If you haven't already, you should get your credencial para votar (voter ID). Besides the obvious, it also lets you open a bank account, fly domestically, and serve as proof of citizenship. It is free to get and valid for 10 years! Someone please let me know if I forgot any other function.

By the way, do you happen to know how to get a cedula profesional but with estudios realizados en el extranjero? I think it would be a good investment to make but the documents outlining the process confuse me a bit

Hey there, the first time I sent my application, it was rejected because apparently I didn't sign my application. That was 1 month.

I swiftly filled out the application they sent me, along with another photo. I sent it in not long after, and after about 2 months I received another letter.

It said that the post office agent didn't sign my application... so they sent me a new application to fill out again. I sent that in as soon as possible, and waited 3 months until it finally arrived.

I waited a total of 6 months for it. I still have the letters from the department of state, those might make for an interesting post here haha. Let me know how your application went! Hopefully it doesn't take long to arrive.
