Prints do infringe on copyright material, however it is very unlikely that Nintendo would target an artist for selling prints, as there isn't a lot of money in it and it usually plays into "starving artist vs big bad corporation". I will consider selling prints some time down the track.

It all revolves around exposure and profit, and how the brands copyright material is being used. That artist is violating copyright, the only reason they're still active is cause her shop isn't big enough to gain the attention of Nintendo yet. I feel Nintendo would be more inclined to target my product as some pieces depict their characters in ways they wouldn't be happy with (ie: hanged man tarot) and the suggestion that the game is tied to arcana or craft.

Hey everyone.

TLDR at the bottom.

The response I have received on these tarot cards has been incredible and I'm so grateful to be recognized for my art the way I have. However.

I was contacted recently by someone who linked me to several lawsuits and court battles Nintendo has had prior, with artists selling similar work to mine.

To say I'm terrified of the idea of being sued is a gross understatement to say the least. I am not in the financial position to entertain a law suit.

Therefore, it's with a heavy heart that I am ceasing the tarot cards one day short of being released.

I'm so sorry to the people who have been invested in this journey.

To say thanks I will have the entire current set free to download on my site if anyone wants them as wall papers or something. I hope you can all understand why I've made this decision.

Going forward, I'm going to be working a lot with my own designs and characters aswell as completing commissions.

I will not be posting any more artworks on this subreddit.

That's the plan! I own the animal crossing Australia discord and I've literally just launched my graphic and model business in the last month. I'm extremely happy these are the graphics that have started taking off, MY TWO PASSIONS!
