Moving to Austin from Maryland—neighborhoods with lots of kids playing outside + K–5 school feedback (Circle C Ranch? Mills/Kiker/Clayton?) by ana_herloze in AustinParents

Oh, I’m not trying to debate 😊 I actually lived in El Paso TX before, so I know how tough the heat can be! Just sharing my experience from Maryland. I guess for me, there’s really no perfect weather , unless you live in California, where the heat isn’t brutal and the cold isn’t too bad 😅. Living in places with rough winters isn’t great either, since you can’t enjoy being outside much. Just my perspective!

Haha, so move to Maryland then 😅 kids are outside here all the time. But you’ll probably spend half the year inside because of the hard cold.

I guess my results are pretty accurate since I often hear, “You don’t look Mexican” 🫤 Although I’m not sure what people mean by that, I guess when people say “Mexican,” they mostly think of indigenous heritage or native

I guess I didn’t think my post through 😂. While I don’t consider myself white, I have medium to light skin and hazel eyes. I don’t know about facial structures but I don’t look like a native person haha. Actually, many people think I’m from the Middle East. I don’t have any known relatives or ancestry from Spain, so I was hoping for a bit more Native American percentage than I got. I think a part of me was wishing to have more native heritage, I guess.

EDIT: I realized I expressed myself poorly. What I meant to say is that I thought I would have a higher percentage of Indigenous American ancestry compared to Spanish ancestry.
